Claims
- 1. A method of detecting and measuring emission of high energy particles comprising exposing to high energy particles a measured solution containing 2,5-di-m-tolyl-1,3,4 oxadiazole and measuring the emission of radiation from the 2,5-di-m-tolyl-1,3,4 oxadiazole.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the high energy particle emission is radioactivity.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein a secondary fluor is employed in conjunction with 2,5-di-m-tolyl-1,3,4 oxadiazole.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the secondary fluor is 2,2'-p-phenylene bis- (5-phenyloxazole).
- 5. A method of measuring radioactive emission by scintillation counting comprising dispersing in mixed dispersion a material containing at least one radioactive compound and, as a scintillator 2,5-di-m-tolyl-1,3,4 oxadiazole and counting resulting scintillation pulses.
