Claims
- 1. A sealing structure for a rotary valve, comprising:
- a rotary member provided with a plurality of pockets opening toward the outer periphery of said rotary member;
- a casing enclosing the outer periphery of said rotary member;
- sealing members provided between the outer periphery of said rotary member and the inner periphery of said casing;
- said sealing members being formed to be adjustably projectable in the radial direction;
- a plurality of cavities, slidably containing said sealing members, disposed at fixed angular intervals along the entire inner peripheral wall of said casing enclosing the outer periphery of said rotary member such that said sealing members are free to project radially inwardly to seal the periphery of said rotary member;
- said casing being provided with holes extending radially through said casing and connecting each said cavity with the outer periphery of said casing;
- rod-shaped pushing members slidably fitted in said holes such that said sealing members are projected radially inwardly by said rod-shaped pushing members; and
- each said rod-shaped pushing member being actuatable at an external end thereof which protrudes to the outside of said casing.
- 2. A sealing structure according to claim 1, wherein:
- each said hole is provided with a fitting nut threadedly received therewithin;
- said pushing members comprise screw members;
- each said fitting nut has one of said screw members threadedly received therein;
- a sealing means is disposed at the inner end of each said fitting nut to seal said adjusting rod from outside; and
- said sealing members are projected radially inwardly by advancement of said screw members by an external screwing and rotating operation.
- 3. A sealing structure according to claim 1, wherein:
- cylinder devices having piston rods are provided on the outside of said casing; and
- said pushing members are joined with said piston rods such that said sealing members are projected radially inwardly by sliding of said piston rods by a fluid pressure.
- 4. A sealing structure according to claim 1, including:
- side sealing means wherein ring-shaped side sealing members are provided between the outer peripheral portions of the axial front and rear end surfaces of said rotary member and the inner peripheral wall of said casing so as to be pressed by pushing members extended out of the front and rear of said casing.
- 5. A sealing structure according to claim 4, wherein:
- said pushing members comprise screw members such that said side sealing members are pressed in the axial direction by a screwing rotation of said screw members from outside.
- 6. A sealing structure according to claim 4, wherein:
- said structure includes cylinder devices having piston rods, said cylinder devices being provided outside the front and rear of said casing; and
- said pushing members are joined with said piston rods such that said side sealing members are pressed in the axial direction through said pushing members by a fluid pressure.
- 7. A sealing structure according to claim 1, wherein:
- said plurality of cavities are disposed at 90.degree. angular intervals along said inner peripheral wall of said casing enclosing said outer periphery of said rotary member such that said sealing members are free to project radially inwardly at 90.degree. angular intervals to seal the periphery of said rotary member.
