Claims
- 1. A cleaning wafer cassette for accommodating a plurality of semiconductor wafers for immersion in a solution chamber of a cleaning apparatus comprising:
- first and second support plates having opposing surfaces;
- first and second wafer support rods extending in parallel in a lengthwise direction of the cassette between lower portions of the first and second support plates; and
- a first handle connected to an upper portion of the first support plate and a second handle secured to an upper portion of the second support plate, each handle being coplanar with the support plate to which it is connected.
- 2. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 1 wherein each of the wafer support rods has a plurality of wafer receiving grooves for supporting wafers.
- 3. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 1 wherein the first and second handles are integrally formed with the first and second support plates, respectively.
- 4. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 3 wherein each handle comprises a flat plate integral with one of the support plates.
- 5. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 1 wherein each support plate is substantially T-shaped and has a leg and a lower portion extending transversely from a lower end of the leg and connected to the support rods, and each handle is secured to an upper end of one of the legs.
- 6. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 5 wherein the handles extend perpendicularly to the legs of the support plates in a widthwise direction of the cassette.
- 7. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 1 wherein the handles are disposed higher than upper ends of wafers supported by the support rods.
- 8. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 1 including third and fourth support rods extending in parallel to the first and second support rods between the lower portions of the support plates, wherein all four support rods lie along a common circle.
- 9. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 8 wherein the handles are situated outside the common circle.
- 10. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 1 including an unobstructed space between the first and second handles through which wafers to be accommodated in the cassette can pass during loading and unloading of the cassette.
- 11. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 10 wherein the unobstructed space extends from the first to the second handle.
- 12. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 10 wherein the unobstructed space extends between the first and second support plates above the support rods.
- 13. A wafer cassette as claimed in claim 10 wherein the unobstructed space has a width in a widthwise direction of the cassette which is greater than or equal to a diameter of wafers to be accommodated in the cassette.
- 14. A cleaning wafer cassette for accommodating a plurality of semiconductor wafers for immersion in a solution chamber of a cleaning apparatus comprising:
- first and second support plates having opposing surfaces;
- first and second wafer support rods extending in parallel in a lengthwise direction of the cassette between lower portions of the first and second support plates, the first and second support plates being connected to each other only by the support rods; and
- a first handle connected to an upper portion of the first support plate and a second handle secured to an upper portion of the second support plate, there being an unobstructed space between the first and second handles through which wafers to be accommodated in the cassette can pass during loading and unloading of the cassette.
