- 4. A silicone rubber windshield wiper blade having a specific gravity of 1.15 to 1.29 which has been reinforced with a mixture consisting essentially of fumed silica and ground glass having an average particle size in the range of about 5 to about 15 microns to provide a silicone rubber windshield wiper blade having a tensile strength in the range of 1100 to 1600 psi, where the silicone rubber windshield wiper blade has been surface treated with a release agent in an amount sufficient to provide a coefficient of friction with respect to automotive windshield glass in the range of about 0.1 to about 0.3.
- 5. A silicone rubber windshield wiper blade in accordance with claim 4, which has been surface treated with polytetraflouroethylene.
- 6. A tinted silicone rubber windshield wiper blade in accordance with claim 5.
- 7. A tinted silicone rubber windshield wiper blade in accordance with claim 4.
- 8. A silicone rubber windshield wiper blade in accordance with claim 4, comprising a molded and tinted silicone composition comprising by weight:
- (A) 100 parts of a silicone mixture comprising:
- (i) 100 parts of a vinyl-substituted organopolysiloxane;
- (ii) about 1 to about 20 parts of a siloxanehydride; and
- (iii) an effective amount of a platinum group metal catalyst; and
- (B) 5 to 40 parts of filler consisting essentially of:
- (iv) 80% to 95% of fumed silica; and
- (v) 5% to 20% of ground glass having an average particle size in the range of about 5 to about 15 microns.
- 9. A silicone rubber windshield wiper blade in accordance with claim 8, surface treated with polytetrafluoroethylene in an amount sufficient to provide a coefficient of friction with respect to automotive windshield glass in the range of about 0.1 to about 0.3.
