Claims
- 1. A silver halide emulsion comprising silver halide grains, wherein at least 30% of total grain projected area is accounted for by tabular grains having an aspect ratio of 5 or more; said tabular grains further having dislocation lines of 30 or more per grain in a fringe portion of the grain, and said tabular grains each contains silver iodide, the content of which gradually and continuously varies from a center to an edge of the grains so that each said silver iodide content variation in a direction from the center to the edge is within a range of −0.03 mol %/nm to 0.03 mol %/nm, where each said silver iodide content variation is a difference of silver iodide content between two adjacent measurement points divided by a distance therebetween, each said measurement point being at an interval of 5% of a length of a line which is drawn vertically from the center to the edge of the grain.
- 2. The silver halide emulsion of claim 1, wherein a variation coefficient of grain size distribution is 25% or less and a variation coefficient of grain thickness is 35% or less.
- 3. The silver halide emulsion of claim 1, wherein the tabular grains each contains a reduction sensitization center in the interior of the grains.
- 4. The silver halide emulsion of claim 1, wherein the average grain thickness of the silver halide grains is 0.05 to 1.5 μm.
- 5. The silver halide emulsion of claim 4, wherein the average grain thickness of the silver halide grains is 0.07 to 0.50 μm.
- 6. The silver halide emulsion of claim 1, wherein the average grain size of the silver halide grains is 0.1 to 5.0 μm.
- 7. The silver halide emulsion of claim 6, wherein the average grain size of the silver halide grains is 0.2 to 2.5 μm.
- 8. The silver halide emulsion of claim 1, wherein the iodide content variation is within a range of −0.01 mol %/nm to +0.02 mol %/nm.
- 9. The silver halide emulsion of claim 8, wherein the iodide content variation is within a range of 0.00 mol %/nm to +0.01 mol %/nm.
- 10. A silver halide emulsion comprising silver halide grains, wherein at least 30% of total grain projected area is accounted for by tabular grains having an aspect ratio of 5 or more; said tabular grains further having dislocation lines of 30 or more per grain in a fringe portion of the grain, and said tabular grains each contains silver iodide, the content of which gradually and continuously varies from a center to an edge of the grains so that each said silver iodide content variation in a direction from the center to the edge is within a range −0.03 mol %/nm to +0.03 mol %/nm, where each said silver iodide content variation is a difference of silver of silver iodide content between two adjacent measurement points divided by a distance therebetween, each said measurement point being an interval of 20 nm on a line which is drawn vertically from the center to the edge of the grain, and a spot of an electron beam for measurement being 20 nm.
- 11. The silver halide emulsion of claim 10, wherein a variation coefficient of grain size distribution is 25% or less and a variation coefficient of grain thickness is 35% or less.
- 12. The silver halide emulsion of claim 10, wherein the tabular grains each contains a reduction sensitization center in the interior of the grains.
- 13. The silver halide emulsion of claim 10, wherein the average grain thickness of the silver halide grains is 0.05 to 1.5 μm.
- 14. The silver halide emulsion of claim 13, wherein the average grain thickness of the silver halide grains is 0.07 to 0.50 μm.
- 15. The silver halide emulsion of claim 10, wherein the average grain size of the silver halide grains is 0.1 to 5.0 μm.
- 16. The silver halide emulsion of claim 15, wherein the average grain size of the silver halide grains is 0.2 to 2.5 μm.
- 17. The silver halide emulsion of claim 10, wherein the iodide content variation is within a range of −0.01 mol %/nm to +0.02 mol %/nm.
- 18. The silver halide emulsion of claim 10, wherein the iodide content variation is within a range of 0.00 mol %/nm to +0.01 mol %/nm.
