Claims
- 1. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material comprising processing a spectrally sensitized silver halide photographic material with a processing solution containing a compound represented by the general formula (I) or (II) or a salt thereof; ##STR73## wherein Z.sub.1 represents a nonmetallic atom group required to form an unsaturated ring; Y.sub.1 represents an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or ##STR74## in which R.sub.11 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group; R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group substituted with an amino, dialkylamino or sulfonamido group; and X.sub.1 represents an oxygen atom ##STR75## wherein Z.sub.2 represents a nonmetallic atom group required to form an unsaturated ring; Y.sub.2 represents an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or ##STR76## in which R.sub.12 has the same meaning as R.sub.11 ; R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group substituted with an amino group, a dialkylamino group or a sulfonamido group; X.sub.2 represents an oxygen atom, a methylene group or ##STR77## in which R.sub.22 has the same meaning as R.sub.11 ; or a compound represented by the general formula (III): ##STR78## wherein Z represents a nonmetallic atom group required to form an unsaturated ring; and R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a sulfo group, a dialkylamino group, a phosphoryl group, an aryl group, an acyl group, an allyl group or an alkanesulfonyl group,
- wherein the compound of formula (I), (II) or (III) is present in the processing solution in an amount of from 5.times.10.sup.-5 to 10.sup.-1 mol/l.
- 2. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, the unsaturated ring formed by Z.sub.1 or Z.sub.2 is a benzene ring, a naphthalene ring or a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring.
- 3. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 2, wherein said heterocyclic ring formed by Z.sub.1 or Z.sub.2 is a pyridine ring, a pyrimidine ring, a pyrazine ring, a furan ring, a thiene ring, a pyrrole ring, a triazine ring, an imidazole ring, a quinazoline ring, a purine ring, a quinoline ring, an acridine ring, an indole ring, a thiazole ring, an oxazole ring, a selenazole ring, a furazalane ring or a heterocyclic ring comprising a benzo or naphtho ring condensed therewith.
- 4. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 is an alkyl group substituted with a dialkylamino group, an unsubstituted alkyl group or an alkoxy group.
- 5. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, wherein Y.sub.1 is a sulfur atom, X.sub.1 is an oxygen atom, and X.sub.2 is --O-- or --NH--.
- 6. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, wherein the unsaturated ring formed by Z is a benzene ring, a naphthalene ring or a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring.
- 7. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 6, wherein said heterocyclic ring formed by Z is a pyridine ring, a pyrimidine ring, a pyrazine ring, a furan ring, a thiene ring, a pyrrole ring, a triazine ring, an imidazole ring, a quinazoline ring, a purine ring, a quinoline ring, an acridine ring, an indole ring, a thiazole ring, an oxazole ring, a selenazole ring, a furazalane ring or a heterocyclic ring comprising a benzo or naphtho ring condensed therewith.
- 8. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, wherein R represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group.
- 9. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, wherein the processing solution contains a compound represented by general formula (I) or a salt thereof.
- 10. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, wherein the processing solution contains a compound represented by general formula (II) or a salt thereof.
- 11. A method for the processing of a silver halide photographic material according to claim 1, wherein the processing solution contains a compound represented by general formula (III).
