Claims
- 1. A speaker bracket, comprising:
a receptacle having a hole; and a support for holding a speaker, the support including:
a protrusion for inserting into the hole and for rotatably and removably attaching the support to the receptacle, and a first mechanism for rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 2. The speaker bracket of claim 1 wherein the support and the speaker are integral.
- 3. The speaker bracket of claim 1 wherein the support and the speaker are separate parts.
- 4. The speaker bracket of claim 1 wherein the hole includes a female audio jack and the protrusion includes a male audio plug.
- 5. The speaker bracket of claim 4 wherein the male audio plug is for inserting into the female audio jack, the support for rotatably pivoting about the axis of the male audio plug when the male audio plug is inserted into the female audio jack.
- 6. The speaker bracket of claim 5 wherein the female audio jack is a ¼ inch female audio jack and the male audio plug is a ¼ inch male audio plug.
- 7. The speaker bracket of claim 1 wherein the receptacle further includes a second mechanism for engaging the first mechanism and for rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 8. The speaker bracket of claim 7 wherein the first mechanism includes at least one first tab and the second mechanism includes at least one second tab, the first tab for engaging the second tab and for rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 9. The speaker bracket of claim 8 wherein the first tab engages the second tab with a button and corresponding detent, the button and detent assisting in rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 10. The speaker bracket of claim 7 wherein the first mechanism includes opposing tabs and the second mechanism includes opposing tabs, the opposing tabs of the first mechanism for engaging the opposing tabs of the second mechanism and for rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 11. The speaker bracket of claim 10 wherein the opposing tabs of the first mechanism engage the opposing tabs of the second mechanism with buttons and corresponding detents, the buttons and detents assisting in rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 12. The speaker bracket of claim 1 wherein the receptacle and the support are made at least in part from sheet metal.
- 13. The speaker bracket of claim 1 wherein the receptacle is for affixing to a substantially vertical wall of a spa.
- 14. A speaker bracket, comprising:
a receptacle having a hole; a support for holding a speaker, the support including a protrusion for inserting into the hole and for rotatably and removably attaching the support to the receptacle; and a positioning mechanism for rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 15. The speaker bracket of claim 14 wherein the positioning mechanism includes a first tab associated with the support and a second tab associated with the receptacle, the first tab for engaging the second tab and for rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 16. The speaker bracket of claim 15 wherein the first tab and second tab engage one another at least in part with a button and a detent.
- 17. The speaker bracket of claim 14 wherein the hole includes a female audio jack and the protrusion includes a male audio plug.
- 18. The speaker bracket of claim 17 wherein the female audio jack is a ¼ inch female audio jack and the male audio plug is a ¼ inch male audio plug.
- 19. The speaker bracket of claim 14 wherein the receptacle and the support are made at least in part from sheet metal.
- 20. A speaker bracket, comprising:
receptacle means; support means for holding a speaker, the support means including means for rotatably and removably attaching the support to the receptacle; and means for rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle.
- 21. The speaker bracket of claim 20 wherein the receptacle means includes a female audio jack and the support includes a male audio plug, the male audio plug for inserting into the female audio jack and thereby rotatably and removably locking the support means relative to the receptacle means.
- 22. The speaker bracket of claim 20 wherein the receptacle means and the support means are made at least in part from sheet metal.
- 23. A speaker bracket for a spa, comprising:
a receptacle having a hole, the receptacle being attached to a substantially vertical wall of the spa; a support for holding a speaker, the support including a protrusion inserted into the hole of the receptacle to rotatably and removably attach the support to the receptacle; and a positioning mechanism rotatably and removably locking the support relative to the receptacle such that the speaker extends, at least in part, above the substantially vertical wall of the spa.
- 24. The speaker bracket of claim 23 wherein the protrusion includes a male audio plug and the hole includes a female audio jack, the male audio plug being inserted into the female audio jack to rotatably and removably attach the support to the receptacle, the female audio jack being electrically coupled to an audio system and the male audio plug being electrically connected to the speaker.
- 25. The speaker bracket of claim 24 wherein the positioning mechanism includes a first tab associated with the support and a second tab associated with the receptacle, the first tab engaging the second tab and to rotatably and removably lock the support relative to the receptacle such that the speaker extends, at least in part, above the substantially vertical wall of the spa.
- 26. A method for assembling a speaker bracket, comprising:
affixing a receptacle to a surface, the receptacle including a hole and a first part of a positioning mechanism; providing a support including a protrusion and a second part of the positioning mechanism; inserting the protrusion into the hole such that the first part and second part of the positioning mechanism are unaligned; and rotating the support relative to the receptacle about a pivot point located at the hole and the protrusion to align and engage the first part and the second part of the positioning mechanism and to removably and rotatably lock the support relative to the receptacle.
- 27. The method of claim 26, further comprising:
rotating the support relative to the receptacle about the pivot point to unalign and disengage the first part and the second part of the positioning mechanism and to rotatably unlock the support from the receptacle; removing the protrusion of the support from the hole of the receptacle.
- 28. The method of claim 27, further comprising:
providing a male audio plug as part of the protrusion; and providing a female audio jack as part of the hole.
