Claims
- 1. An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence which encodes a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17.
- 2. An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence which encodes a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence encoded by the DNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98984.
- 3. An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 16.
- 4. An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising the nucleotide sequence of the DNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98984.
- 5. An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17.
- 6. An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence encoded by the DNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98984.
- 7. An isolated nucleic acid molecule consisting of the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 16.
- 8. An isolated nucleic acid molecule consisting of the nucleotide sequence of the DNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98984.
- 9. The nucleic acid molecule as in any one of claims 1-8, which further comprises vector nucleic acid sequences.
- 10. The nucleic acid molecule of claim 9, wherein the vector nucleic acid sequences regulate expression of a polypeptide encoded by the nucleic acid molecule.
- 11. A host cell which contains the nucleic acid molecule of claim 9.
- 12. A host cell which contains the nucleic acid molecule as in any one of claims 1-8.
- 13. The host cell of claim 11 which is a mammalian host cell.
- 14. The host cell of claim 12 which is a mammalian host cell.
- 15. A method for detecting the presence of a nucleic acid molecule which encodes a polypeptide having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17 in a sample comprising:
a) contacting the sample with a nucleic acid probe or primer which selectively hybridizes to nucleotides 153-269 of the nucleic acid molecule of SEQ ID NO: 16; and b) determining whether the nucleic acid probe or primer binds to a nucleic acid molecule in the sample to thereby detect the presence of the nucleic acid molecule encoding the polypeptide having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17 in the sample.
- 16. A kit comprising a compound which selectively hybridizes to nucleotides 153-269 of the nucleic acid molecule of SEQ ID NO: 16 and instructions for use.
- 17. An isolated nucleic acid molecule which encodes a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least 85% identical to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17, wherein % identity is determined using the ALIGN algorithm (gap length penalty=12, gap penalty=4).
- 18. The nucleic acid molecule 17, which further comprises vector nucleic acid sequences.
- 19. A host cell which contains the nucleic acid molecule of claim 17 or 18.
- 20. A method for expressing a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 17, comprising culturing a host cell which contains the nucleic acid molecule of claim 1 under conditions in which the nucleic acid molecule is expressed, thereby expressing the polypeptide.
- 21. A method for expressing a polypeptide encoded by the nucleotide sequence of the DNA insert of the plasmid deposited with ATCC as Accession Number 98984, comprising culturing a host cell which contains the nucleic acid molecule of claim 2 under conditions in which the nucleic acid molecule is expressed, thereby expressing the polypeptide.
- 22. The method of claims 20 or 21, further comprising isolating the polypeptide from the medium or the host cell.
- 23. An isolated nucleic acid molecule which encodes a polypeptide comprising at least 20 contiguous amino acids from amino acid 19 to 58 of SEQ ED NO: 17.
