Claims
- 1. An aqueous cleaning concentrate consisting essentially of 5-45 wt. % of a cleaning composition and 55-95 wt. % water, said cleaning composition consisting essentially of alkaline salts selected from the group consisting of alkali metal carbonates and mixtures thereof with alkali metal bicarbonates, an alkali metal silicate corrosion inhibitor, an anionic polymer composed of a polyacrylic acid having a molecular weight of over 150,000 to 4,000,000 and in amounts effective to maintain said silicate in aqueous solution, an organic adjuvant selected from the group of surfactants, antifoam agents and mixtures thereof and a hydrotrope in amounts to stabilize said adjuvant in said concentrate.
- 2. The concentrate of claim 1 wherein said alkali metal silicate is potassium silicate.
- 3. The concentrate of claim 1 wherein said organic adjuvant comprises a mixture of surfactants.
- 4. The concentrate of claim 1 wherein said hydrotrope comprises an alkali metal salt of a fatty monocarboxylic acid having a carbon chain length of between C.sub.7 -C.sub.13.
- 5. The concentrate of claim 1 wherein said alkali metal silicate is present in amounts of at least 0.5 to 10 wt. % based on said concentrate and said anionic polymer is present in amounts of about 0.1 to 2 wt. % based on said concentrate.
- 6. The concentrate of claim 1 wherein said alkali metal silicate is present in amounts of at least 1-8 wt. % based on said concentrate and said anionic polymer is present in amounts of about 0.3 to less than 1.2 wt. % based on said concentrate.
- 7. The concentrate of claim 1 wherein said anionic polymer forms a three-dimensional porous matrix in solution.
- 8. The concentrate of claims 1, 5 or 6 wherein said polyacrylic acid has a molecular weight of about 250,000 to 2,000,000.
- 9. The concentrate of claims 5 or 6 wherein said silicate is potassium silicate.
- 10. The concentrate of claim 1 wherein said alkali metal silicate is characterized by a M.sub.2 O:SiO.sub.2 ratio of between 1:1.6 to 1:4.0 wherein M is an alkali metal.
