Claims
- 1. A method for managing services, comprising:
receiving a request directed to a business service; processing the request by a series of plugs, each plug representing an infrastructure service; and processing the request by the business service.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the series of plugs forms a message-processing pipeline.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the series of plugs can be reconfigured, and any requests that have been received but not processed when the series of plugs are reconfigured are thereafter processed by the reconfigured series of plugs.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein if processing the request by the series of plugs fails, then the request is not processed by the business service.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein a response is generated by the business service.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein a response generated by the business service is also processed by the infrastructure service.
- 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the infrastructure service and the business service are operated within a business service container.
- 8. A data processing system having at least a processor and accessible memory, comprising:
means for receiving a request directed to a business service; means for processing the request by a series of plugs, each plug representing an infrastructure service; and means for processing the request by the business service.
- 9. The data processing system of claim 8, wherein the series of plugs forms a message-processing pipeline.
- 10. The data processing system of claim 8, wherein the series of plugs can be reconfigured, and any requests that have been received but not processed when the series of plugs are reconfigured are thereafter processed by the reconfigured series of plugs.
- 11. The data processing system of claim 8, wherein if processing the request by the series of plugs fails, then the request is not processed by the business service.
- 12. The data processing system of claim 8, wherein a response is generated by the business service.
- 13. The data processing system of claim 8, wherein a response generated by the business service is also processed by the infrastructure service.
- 14. The data processing system of claim 8, wherein the infrastructure service and the business service are operated within a business service container.
- 15. A computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable medium, comprising:
instructions for receiving a request directed to a business service; instructions for processing the request by a series of plugs, each plug representing an infrastructure service; and instructions for processing the request by the business service.
- 16. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the series of plugs forms a message-processing pipeline.
- 17. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the series of plugs can be reconfigured, and any requests that have been received but not processed when the series of plugs are reconfigured are thereafter processed by the reconfigured series of plugs.
- 18. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein if processing the request by the series of plugs fails, then the request is not processed by the business service.
- 19. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein a response is generated by the business service.
- 20. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein a response generated by the business service is also processed by the infrastructure service.
- 21. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the infrastructure service and the business service are operated within a business service container. 1. A method for managing services, comprising:
receiving a request directed to a business service; invoking an infrastructure service; processing the request by the infrastructure service; and processing the request by the business service.
