Claims
- 1. A method for providing a multifunction toolbar for a web browser, comprising:
(a) displaying a toolbar over a web browser; (b) linking the toolbar to a portal of a user, wherein the portal is for aggregating content selected by the user; (c) presenting a bucket on the toolbar; (d) recognizing when the user selects content on a website displayed on the web browser and drops the content in the bucket; and (e) adding the selected content to the portal.
- 2. A method as recited in claim 1, wherein the toolbar includes a sign on button, wherein the toolbar links to the portal upon the user signing in.
- 3. A method as recited in claim 1, wherein the toolbar includes a customize button, wherein a customization screen is opened upon selection of the customize button, wherein features of the toolbar can be manipulated using the customization screen.
- 4. A method as recited in claim 1, wherein the toolbar includes a headlines button, wherein headlines of the portal are displayed on the web browser upon selection of the headlines button.
- 5. A method as recited in claim 1, wherein the toolbar includes an email button, wherein email messages of the user are displayed upon selection of the email button.
- 6. A method as recited in claim 1, wherein the toolbar includes a bookmark button, wherein bookmarks are displayed upon selection of the bookmark button.
- 7. A method as recited in claim 6, wherein the toolbar includes a synchronize bookmark button, wherein the bookmarks are synchronized upon selection of the synchronize bookmark button.
- 8. A method as recited in claim 1, wherein the toolbar includes a search field, wherein search results are displayed upon entry of a search term in the search field.
- 9. A method as recited in claim 1, wherein the toolbar includes a color button, wherein the user is allowed to change the color of the toolbar upon selection of the color button.
- 10. A computer program product for providing a multifunction toolbar for a web browser, comprising:
(a) computer code for displaying a toolbar over a web browser; (b) computer code for linking the toolbar to a portal of a user, wherein the portal is for aggregating content selected by the user; (c) computer code for presenting a bucket on the toolbar; (d) computer code for recognizing when the user selects content on a website displayed on the web browser and drops the content in the bucket; and (e) computer code for adding the selected content to the portal.
- 11. A computer program product as recited in claim 10, wherein the toolbar includes a sign on button, wherein the toolbar links to the portal upon the user signing in.
- 12. A computer program product as recited in claim 10, wherein the toolbar includes a customize button, wherein a customization screen is opened upon selection of the customize button, wherein features of the toolbar can be manipulated using the customization screen.
- 13. A computer program product as recited in claim 10, wherein the toolbar includes a headlines button, wherein headlines of the portal are displayed on the web browser upon selection of the headlines button.
- 14. A computer program product as recited in claim 10, wherein the toolbar includes an email button, wherein email messages of the user are displayed upon selection of the email button.
- 15. A computer program product as recited in claim 10, wherein the toolbar includes a bookmark button, wherein bookmarks are displayed upon selection of the bookmark button.
- 16. A computer program product as recited in claim 15, wherein the toolbar includes a synchronize bookmark button, wherein the bookmarks are synchronized upon selection of the synchronize bookmark button.
- 17. A computer program product as recited in claim 10, wherein the toolbar includes a search field, wherein search results are displayed upon entry of a search term in the search field.
- 18. A computer program product as recited in claim 10, wherein the toolbar includes a color button, wherein the user is allowed to change the color of the toolbar upon selection of the color button.
- 19. A system for providing a multifunction toolbar for a web browser, comprising:
(a) logic for displaying a toolbar over a web browser; (b) logic for linking the toolbar to a portal of a user, wherein the portal is for aggregating content selected by the user; (c) logic for presenting a bucket on the toolbar; (d) logic for recognizing when the user selects content on a website displayed on the web browser and drops the content in the bucket; and (e) logic for adding the selected content to the portal.
- 20. A method for providing a multifunction toolbar for a web browser, comprising:
(a) displaying a toolbar over a web browser; (b) wherein the toolbar includes a sign on button for allowing a user to sign on to a system; (c) linking the toolbar to a portal of a user upon the user signing on, wherein the portal is for aggregating content selected by the user; (d) presenting additional features on the toolbar upon the user signing in; (e) wherein one of the additional features is a bucket presented on the toolbar; (f) recognizing when the user selects content on a website displayed on the web browser and drops the content in the bucket; and (g) adding the selected content to the portal.
- 21. A method as recited in claim 20, wherein the toolbar includes a customize button, wherein a customization screen is opened upon selection of the customize button, wherein features of the toolbar can be manipulated using the customization screen.
- 22. A method as recited in claim 20, wherein the toolbar includes a headlines button, wherein headlines of the portal are displayed on the web browser upon selection of the headlines button.
- 23. A method as recited in claim 20, wherein the toolbar includes an email button, wherein email messages of the user are displayed upon selection of the email button.
- 24. A method as recited in claim 20, wherein the toolbar includes a bookmark button, wherein bookmarks are displayed upon selection of the bookmark button.
- 25. A method as recited in claim 24, wherein the toolbar includes a synchronize bookmark button, wherein the bookmarks are synchronized upon selection of the synchronize bookmark button.
- 26. A method as recited in claim 20, wherein the toolbar includes a search field, wherein search results are displayed upon entry of a search term in the search field.
- 27. A method as recited in claim 20, wherein the toolbar includes a color button, wherein the user is allowed to change the color of the toolbar upon selection of the color button.
- 28. A computer program product for providing a multifunction toolbar for a web browser, comprising:
(a) computer code for displaying a toolbar over a web browser; (b) wherein the toolbar includes a sign on button for allowing a user to sign on to a system; (c) computer code for linking the toolbar to a portal of a user upon the user signing in, wherein the portal is for aggregating content selected by the user; (d) computer code for presenting additional features on the toolbar upon the user signing in; (e) wherein one of the additional features is a bucket presented on the toolbar; (f) computer code for recognizing when the user selects content on a website displayed on the web browser and drops the content in the bucket; and (g) computer code for adding the selected content to the portal.
- 29. A computer program product as recited in claim 28, wherein the toolbar includes a customize button, wherein a customization screen is opened upon selection of the customize button, wherein features of the toolbar can be manipulated using the customization screen.
- 30. A computer program product as recited in claim 28, wherein the toolbar includes a headlines button, wherein headlines of the portal are displayed on the web browser upon selection of the headlines button.
- 31. A computer program product as recited in claim 28, wherein the toolbar includes an email button, wherein email messages of the user are displayed upon selection of the email button.
- 32. A computer program product as recited in claim 28, wherein the toolbar includes a bookmark button, wherein bookmarks are displayed upon selection of the bookmark button.
- 33. A computer program product as recited in claim 32, wherein the toolbar includes a synchronize bookmark button, wherein the bookmarks are synchronized upon selection of the synchronize bookmark button.
- 34. A computer program product as recited in claim 28, wherein the toolbar includes a search field, wherein search results are displayed upon entry of a search term in the search field.
- 35. A computer program product as recited in claim 28, wherein the toolbar includes a color button, wherein the user is allowed to change the color of the toolbar upon selection of the color button.
- 36. A system for providing a multifunction toolbar for a web browser, comprising:
(a) logic for displaying a toolbar over a web browser; (b) wherein the toolbar includes a sign on button for allowing a user to sign on to a system; (c) logic for linking the toolbar to a portal of a user upon the user signing in, wherein the portal is for aggregating content selected by the user; (d) logic for presenting additional features on the toolbar upon the user signing in; (e) wherein one of the additional features is a bucket presented on the toolbar; (f) logic for recognizing when the user selects content on a website displayed on the web browser and drops the content in the bucket; and (g) logic for adding the selected content to the portal.
- 37. A method for providing a multifunction toolbar for a web browser, comprising:
(a) displaying a toolbar over a web browser; (b) wherein the toolbar includes a sign on button for allowing a user to sign on to a system; (c) linking the toolbar to a portal of a user upon the user signing in, wherein the portal is for aggregating content selected by the user; (d) presenting additional features on the toolbar upon the user signing in; (e) wherein the toolbar includes a bucket; (f) recognizing when the user selects content on a website displayed on the web browser and drops the content in the bucket; and (g) adding the selected content to the portal; (h) wherein the toolbar includes a customize button, wherein a customization screen is opened upon selection of the customize button, wherein features of the toolbar can be manipulated using the customization screen; (i) wherein the toolbar includes a headlines button, wherein headlines of the portal are displayed on the web browser upon selection of the headlines button; (j) wherein the toolbar includes an email button, wherein email messages of the user are displayed upon selection of the email button; (k) wherein the toolbar includes a bookmark button, wherein bookmarks are displayed upon selection of the bookmark button; (1) wherein the toolbar includes a synchronize bookmark button, wherein the bookmarks are synchronized upon selection of the synchronize bookmark button; (m) wherein the toolbar includes a search field, wherein search results are displayed upon entry of a search term in the search field; (n) wherein the toolbar includes a color button, wherein the user is allowed to change the color of the toolbar upon selection of the color button.
