Claims
- 1. A method for determining energy experienced by a person during activity over ground, comprising the steps of:determining, at at least two different locations about the person, forces of acceleration experienced by the person due to interaction with the ground and in a direction generally perpendicular to the ground; processing, on the person, signals representative of the forces of acceleration over a time interval defined by the activity over ground to determine the energy, the step of processing further comprising ratioing the energy from each of the at least two different locations; and reporting the energy to the person, the step of reporting comprising reporting a ratio of the energy from each of the at least two different locations.
- 2. A method for evaluating shoes worn by a person for activity on ground, comprising the steps of:determining forces of acceleration experienced by the person in a direction generally perpendicular to the ground; processing signals representative of the forces of acceleration over a time interval to determine energy experienced by the person while wearing the shoes; reporting the energy to the person; and evaluating the shoes based on the energy.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the step of reporting comprises wirelessly transmitting data indicative of the energy to a remote receiver.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the step of wirelessly transmitting comprises transmitting the data to a watch worn by the person.
- 5. The method of claim 2, wherein the step of processing signals comprises processing the forces of acceleration over a time interval of up to about one day.
