Claims
- 1. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a driving mechanism for feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed;
- a cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of said printing head along said feeding direction of said tape, said cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape by moving a cutting edge thereof to a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- a detection switch for detecting a movement of said cutting edge intended for cutting said tape and for halting printing being executed by said printing head when said movement of said cutting edge is detected by said detection switch.
- 2. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 1, wherein said detection switch detects a movement of said cutting edge before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and whereby said detection switch halts printing being executed by said printing head before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape.
- 3. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a driving mechanism for feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed;
- a cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of said printing head along said feeding direction of said tape, said cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape by moving a cutting edge thereof to a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- a detection switch for detecting a movement of said cutting edge intended for cutting said tape and for halting feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism when said movement of said cutting edge is detected by said detection switch.
- 4. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 3, said detection switch being further arranged for halting printing being executed by said printing head when said movement of said cutting edge is detected by said detection switch.
- 5. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 4, wherein said detection switch detects said movement of said cutting edge before said cutting reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and whereby said detection switch halts feeding of said tape before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape.
- 6. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 3, wherein said detection switch detects said movement of said cutting edge before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and whereby said detection switch halts feeding of said tape before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape.
- 7. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a driving mechanism for feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed;
- a cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of said printing head along said feeding direction of said tape, said cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape by moving a cutting edge thereof to a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- a detection switch for detecting said cutting edge reaching said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape and for halting feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism and for halting printing being executed by said printing head when said cutting edge is detected by said detection switch and for resuming feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism and for resuming printing by said printing head when said cutting edge is not detected by said detection switch.
- 8. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 7, wherein said detection switch being further arranged for detecting a traveling cutting edge going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and for resuming feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism when said cutting edge is detected going away.
- 9. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 7, wherein said detection switch being further arranged for detecting a traveling cutting edge going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape and for resuming feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism when said cutting edge is detected going away, and for resuming printing by said printing head when said cutting edge is detected going away.
- 10. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a platen for feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path in a direction through rotation thereof, said platen being rotated by a motor;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- a printer unit for controlling said printing head for printing;
- a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and situated downstream of said printing head along said feeding path of said tape, said tape cutter cutting said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge by moving said traveling edge to a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, said switch being disposed in a position where said operating member is operated by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge, wherein said contact point is connected in a circuit for transmitting an instruction signal for printing to said printer unit.
- 11. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a platen for feeding said tape along predetermined feeding path in a direction through rotation thereof, said platen being rotated by a motor;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen, said printing head being driven by a head driving circuit;
- a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and situated downstream of said printing head along said feeding path of said tape, said tape cutter cutting said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge by moving said traveling edge to a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- a fixed wall positioned in the vicinity of said feeding path;
- a holding member for holding said tape in cooperation with said fixed wall, said holding member being movably disposed in proximity to said tape cutter and beside said feeding path of said tape, said holding member being moved toward said tape prior to a movement of said traveling edge; and
- a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, said switch being disposed in a position where said operating member is operated by a movement of said holding member toward said tape, wherein said contact point is connected in a circuit for transmitting an instruction signal for printing to said driving circuit of said printing head.
- 12. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a platen for feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path in a direction through rotation thereof, said platen being rotated by a motor;
- a motor driving circuit for driving said motor;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- a printer unit for controlling said printing head for printing;
- a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and situated downstream of said printing head along said feeding path of said tape, said tape cutter cutting said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge by moving said traveling edge to a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, said switch being disposed in a position where said operating member is operated by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge, wherein said contact point is connected in a first circuit for transmitting an instruction signal for feeding of said tape to said motor driving circuit.
- 13. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 12, wherein said contact point of said switch in connected in a second circuit for transmitting an instruction signal for printing to said-printer unit.
- 14. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a platen for feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path in a direction through rotation thereof, said platen being rotated by a motor driven by a motor driving circuit;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen, said printing head being driven by a head driving circuit;
- a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and situated downstream of said printing head along said feeding path of said tape, said tape cutter cutting said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge by moving said traveling edge to a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- a fixed wall positioned in the vicinity of said feeding path;
- a holding member for holding said tape in cooperation with said fixed wall, said holding member being movably disposed in proximity to said tape cutter and beside said feeding path of said tape, said holding member being moved toward said tape prior to a movement of said traveling edge; and
- a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, said switch being disposed in a position where said operating member is operated by a movement of said holding member toward said tape, wherein said contact point is connected in a circuit for transmitting an instruction signal for feeding of said tape to said motor driving circuit.
- 15. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a platen for feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path in a direction through rotation thereof, said platen being rotated by a motor;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- a printer unit for controlling electric power supplied to said printing head for printing;
- a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and situated downstream of said printing head along said feeding path of said tape, said tape cutter cutting said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge by moving said traveling edge to a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- a switch having an operating member and being disposed in a position where said operating member is operated by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge, said switch also having a contact point which is switched through operation of said operating member, wherein said contact point outputs a signal allowing said printer unit to halt printing.
- 16. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a platen for feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path in a direction through rotation thereof, said platen being rotated by a motor;
- a motor driving circuit for driving said motor;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- a printer unit for controlling electric power supplied to said printing head for printing;
- a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and situated downstream of said printing head along said feeding path of said tape, said tape cutter cutting said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge by moving said traveling edge to a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- a switch having an operating member and being disposed in a position where said operating member is operated by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge, said switch also having a contact point which is switched through operation of said operating member, wherein said contact point outputs a signal allowing said motor driving circuit to halt rotating said motor.
- 17. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a driving mechanism for feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed;
- a cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of said printing head along said feeding direction of said tape, said cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape by moving a cutting edge thereof to a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- a detection switch for detecting said cutting edge reaching said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and for halting feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism when said cutting edge is detected by said detection switch, and for resuming feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism when said cutting edge is not detected by said detection switch.
- 18. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 17, wherein said detection switch is further arranged for detecting a traveling cutting edge going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and for resuming feeding of said tape by said driving mechanism when said cutting edge is detected going away.
- 19. A tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device comprising:
- a driving mechanism for feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed;
- a cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of said printing head along said feeding direction of said tape, said cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape by moving a cutting edge thereof to a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- a detection switch for detecting said cutting edge reaching said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and for halting printing being executed by said printing head when said cutting edge is detected by said detection switch, and for resuming printing by said printing head when said cutting edge is not detected by said detection switch.
- 20. A tape printing device in accordance with claim 19, wherein said detection switch is further arranged for detecting a traveling cutting edge going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, for resuming printing by said printing head when said cutting edge is detected going away.
- 21. A tape printing device having a cartridge holder unit to which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is attached, said tape printing device comprising:
- a driving mechanism for feeding said tape accommodated in said tape cartridge attached to said cartridge holder unit in a feeding direction;
- a printing head for printing on said tape being fed out of said tape cartridge;
- a freely openable cover for covering said cartridge holder unit that is attached to said cartridge holder unit;
- a connector which can be connected with a memory package accommodating a memory for storing printing related data, said connector being placed in a position in which said connector is freely taken out of and put in when said cover is opened and closed; and
- a control unit for referring to said printing related data stored in said memory package via said connector for use by printing executed by said printing head.
- 22. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape, said cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of a printing head along a feeding direction of said tape, a method for halting printing on said printing tape when cutting of said printing tape is detected, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head of said tape printing device;
- moving said cutting edge of said cutting mechanism toward a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- detecting a movement of said cutting edge intended for cutting said tape; and
- wherein when a movement of said cutting edge is detected, halting printing being executed by said printing head.
- 23. A method in accordance with claim 22, wherein said movement of said cutting edge is detected before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and whereby said printing being executed by said printing head is halted before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape.
- 24. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape, said cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of a printing head along a feeding direction of said tape, a method for halting printing on said printing tape when cutting of said printing tape is detected, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head of said tape printing device;
- moving said cutting edge of said cutting mechanism toward a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- detecting a movement of said cutting edge intended for cutting said tape; and
- wherein when a movement of said cutting edge is detected, halting feeding of said tape.
- 25. A method in accordance with claim 24 further comprising the step of halting printing being executed by said printing head when said movement of said cutting edge is detected.
- 26. A method in accordance with claim 25, wherein said movement of said cutting edge is detected before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and whereby said feeding of said tape is halted before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape.
- 27. A method in accordance with claim 24, wherein said movement of said cutting edge is detected before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape, and whereby said feeding of said tape is halted before said cutting edge reaches said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape.
- 28. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape, said cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of a printing head along a feeding direction of said tape, a method for halting printing on said printing tape when cutting of said printing tape is detected, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head of said tape printing device;
- moving said cutting edge of said cutting mechanism toward a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- detecting whether said cutting edge is at said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- wherein when said cutting edge is detected, halting feeding of said tape and halting printing being executed by said printing head; and
- wherein when said cutting edge is not detected, resuming feeding of said tape and resuming printing by said printing head.
- 29. A method in accordance with claim 28 further comprising the steps of:
- detecting whether a traveling cutting edge is going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- resuming feeding of said tape when said cutting edge is detected going away from said specific position.
- 30. A method in accordance with claim 28 further comprising the steps of:
- detecting whether a traveling cutting edge is going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- resuming feeding of said tape and resuming printing by said printing head when said cutting edge is detected going away from said specific position.
- 31. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and being situated downstream of a printing head along a feeding path of said tape, said tape printing device also including a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, a method for transmitting an instruction signal for printing to a printing control circuit, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path through rotation of a platen;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- moving said traveling edge of said tape cutter toward a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape to allow said tape cutter to cut said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge;
- operating said operating member by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge so that said contact point is connected in a circuit; and
- transmitting an instruction signal for printing to said printing control circuit.
- 32. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and being situated downstream of a printing head along a feeding path of said tape, said tape printing device also including a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, a method for transmitting an instruction signal for printing to a head driving circuit, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path through rotation of a platen;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- moving a holding member toward said tape prior to a movement of said traveling edge, said holding member for holding said tape in cooperation with a fixed wall positioned in the vicinity of said feeding path, said holding member being movably disposed in proximity to said tape cutter and beside said feeding path of said tape;
- moving said traveling edge of said tape cutter toward a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape to allow said tape cutter to cut said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge;
- operating said operating member by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge so that said contact point is connected in a circuit; and
- transmitting an instruction signal for printing to said head driving circuit of said printing head.
- 33. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and being situated downstream of a printing head along a feeding path of said tape, said tape printing device also including a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, a method for transmitting an instruction signal for feeding said tape to a motor driving circuit, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path through rotation of a platen, said platen being rotated by a motor, said motor being driving by a motor driving circuit;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- moving said traveling edge of said tape cutter toward a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape to allow said tape cutter to cut said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge;
- operating said operating member by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge so that said contact point is connected in a first circuit; and
- transmitting an instruction signal for feeding said tape to said motor driving circuit.
- 34. A method in accordance with claim 33, wherein said contact point of said switch is connected in a second circuit and said method further includes the step of:
- transmitting an instruction signal for printing to a printing control circuit for controlling said printing head.
- 35. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and being situated downstream of a printing head along a feeding path of said tape, said tape printing device also including a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is opened through operation of said operating member, a method for transmitting an instruction signal for feeding said tape to a motor driving circuit, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path through rotation of a platen, said platen being rotated by a motor, said motor being driven by a motor driving circuit;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- moving a holding member toward said tape prior to a movement of said traveling edge, said holding member for holding said tape in cooperation with a fixed wall positioned in the vicinity of said feeding path, said holding member being movably disposed in proximity to said tape cutter and beside said feeding path of said tape;
- moving said traveling edge of said tape cutter toward a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape to allow said tape cutter to cut said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge;
- operating said operating member by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge so that said contact point is connected in a circuit; and
- transmitting an instruction signal for feeding said tape to said motor driving circuit.
- 36. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and being situated downstream of a printing head along a feeding path of said tape, said tape printing device also including a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is switched through operation of said operating member, a method for outputting a signal for halting printing, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path through rotation of a platen;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen, electric power supplied to said printing head being controlled by a printing control circuit;
- moving said traveling edge of said tape cutter toward a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape to allow said tape cutter to cut said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge;
- operating said operating member by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge so that said contact point is switched; and
- outputting a signal for allowing said printing control circuit to halt printing.
- 37. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a tape cutter having a fixed edge and a traveling edge, said tape cutter being located where said tape is clamped and being situated downstream of a printing head along a feeding path of said tape, said tape printing device also including a switch having an operating member and a contact point which is switched through operation of said operating member, a method for outputting a signal for halting a motor of a platen, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said tape along a predetermined feeding path through rotation of a platen, said platen being rotated by a motor, said motor being driven by a motor driving circuit;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head while holding said tape in cooperation with said platen;
- moving said traveling edge of said tape cutter toward a specific position where said traveling edge interrupts feeding of said tape to allow said tape cutter to cut said tape between said fixed edge and said traveling edge;
- operating said operating member by said traveling edge of said tape cutter moving toward said fixed edge so that said contact point is switched; and
- outputting a signal for allowing said motor driving circuit to halt rotating said motor.
- 38. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape, said cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of a printing head along a feeding direction of said tape, a method for halting feeding of said printing tape when cutting of said printing tape is detected, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head of said tape printing device;
- moving said cutting edge of said cutting mechanism toward a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- detecting whether said cutting edge has reached said specific position;
- wherein when said cutting edge is detected, halting feeding of said tape; and
- wherein when said cutting edge is not detected, resuming feeding of said tape.
- 39. A method in accordance with claim 38 further comprising the steps of:
- detecting whether a traveling cutting edge is going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- resuming feeding of said tape when said cutting edge is detected going away from said specific position.
- 40. In a tape printing device in which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is replaceably set, said tape printing device including a cutting mechanism arranged for cutting said tape, said cutting mechanism having a cutting edge and being located downstream of a printing head along a feeding direction of said tape, a method for halting printing on said printing tape when cutting of said printing tape is detected, said method comprising the steps of:
- feeding said printing tape in a feeding direction;
- printing on said tape being fed using a printing head of said tape printing device;
- moving said cutting edge of said cutting mechanism toward a specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape;
- detecting whether said cutting edge has reached said specific position;
- wherein when said cutting edge is detected, halting printing being executed by said printing head; and
- wherein when said cutting edge is not detected, resuming printing by said printing head.
- 41. A method in accordance with claim 40 further comprising the steps of:
- detecting whether a traveling cutting edge is going away from said specific position where said cutting edge interrupts feeding of said tape; and
- resuming printing by said printing head when said cutting edge is detected going away from said specific position.
- 42. In a tape printing device having a cartridge holder unit to which a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape is attached, said tape printing device including a control unit, a freely openable cover for covering said cartridge holder unit that is attached to said cartridge holder unit and a connector that may be connected with a memory package of said tape cartridge, a method of referring to printing related data of said tape cartridge, said method comprising the steps of:
- positioning said tape cartridge in said cartridge holder unit of said tape printing device;
- closing said cover of said tape printing device so that said connector is connected with said memory package of said tape cartridge, wherein said connector is able to access printing related data stored in said memory package of said tape cartridge; and
- referring to said printing related data stored in said memory package by said control unit via said connector for use by printing executed by a printing head of said tape printing device.
