Claims
- 1. A tape cassette for a tape printer having a drive shaft and a print head, the tape cassette comprising:a generally rectangular cassette housing having top and bottom sides and four walls that are sized such that the cassette housing can be mounted within the tape printer; a head recess in the cassette housing for receiving the print head when the cassette housing is mounted within the tape printer; a tape spool rotatably supported within the cassette housing; a tape wound on the tape spool, the tape being fed in a feed path to the head recess; a support hole downstream of the head recess in the feed path for receiving the drive shaft of the tape printer, the support hole being located adjacent a corner of the cassette housing defined by a first wall of the four walls that is generally parallel to the feed path and a second wall of the four walls that is generally perpendicular to the feed path; the second wall including a recess spaced inwardly toward the head recess; and a discharge opening downstream of the support hole and located in the recess for discharging tape from the cassette housing.
- 2. A tape cassette for a tape printer having a drive shaft and a print head, the tape cassette comprising:a cassette housing sized for mounting with the tape printer; a head recess in the cassette housing for receiving the print head when the cassette housing is mounted within the tape printer; a tape spool rotatably supported within the cassette housing; a tape wound on the tape spool, the tape being fed in a feed path to the head recess; a support hole downstream of the head recess in the feed path for receiving the drive shaft of the tape printer; a discharge opening downstream of support hole in the feed path for discharging tape from the cassette housing; and the discharge opening being located in a wall of the cassette housing and recessed within the cassette housing such that the discharge opening is located between the wall and the support hole.
- 3. A tape cassette for a printing device having a drive shaft and a print head, comprising:a cassette casing comprising upper and lower surfaces and a lateral surface extending between the upper and lower surfaces, the cassette casing housing a printing tape and defining a feed path through which the tape moves in a feeding direction, the cassette casing defining a head recess adapted to receive the print head of the printing device; the cassette casing further including a support hole adjacent a first corner of the cassette casing downstream of the head recess in the feed direction and adapted to engage the drive shaft of the printing device to feed the tape in the feeding direction; and a discharge opening downstream of the support hole for discharging tape from the cassette; wherein the corner includes a recess spaced inwardly toward the head recess and the discharge opening is located in the recess.
