Claims
- 1. An electrophotographic photoconductive composition comprising a sensitizer and at least one triphenylmethane represented by formula (I) ##STR17## wherein R is an alkyl group, X is H or a methyl group, Z is an alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a p-xylylene group, Y is H, a methyl group, a methoxy group, a tertiary amino group, halogen, a nitro group or a cyano group, Q is H or a methyl group, and n represents a polymerization degree sufficient to obtain an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.] of the polymer from 0.005 to 1.000.
- 2. A photoconductive composition as in claim 1 wherein the alkylene group represented by Z contains 2 to 3 carbon atoms.
- 3. A photoconductive composition as in claim 1 wherein the sensitizer is present in an amount of from 0.0001 to 30% by weight based upon the total weight of the photoconductive composition.
- 4. An electrophotographic photoconductive composition as in claim 3 wherein the sensitizer is present in an amount of from 0.005 to 10% by wt. based on the total weight of the photoconductive composition.
- 5. A photoconductive composition as in claim 1 which further contains a film-forming binder.
- 6. A photoconductive light-sensitive member comprising an electrically conductive or electrically conductively-treated support and an electrophotographic photoconductive composition layer provided on the support, said composition comprising a sensitizer and at least one triphenylmethane polymer represented by formula (I) ##STR18## wherein R is an alkyl group, X is H or a methyl group, Z is an alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a p-xylylene group, Y is H, a methyl group, a methoxy group, a tertiary amino group, halogen, a nitro group or a cyano group, Q is H or a methyl group, and n represents a polymerization degree sufficient to obtain an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.] of the polymer from 0.005 to 1.000.
- 7. A photoconductive light-sensitive member as in claim 6 wherein the alkylene group represented by Z contains 2 to 3 carbon atoms.
