Claims
- 1. An ultrasonic generating unit, comprising:a printed circuit board having an ultrasonic generator for generating ultrasonic drive signals; and a plurality of ultrasonic transducers responsive to the drive signals to generate ultrasound, the printed circuit board having an aperture for each transducer, each transducer being mounted within an aperture wherein the printed circuit board and transducers define a single structural unit wherein said transducers each include a back mass element a piezoelectric ceramic element and a front driver element disposed in sequence along and held in place by a bolt, and wherein for each of said transducers said printed circuit board extends transverse to said bolt and between said piezoelectric ceramic element and said front driver, and has a first electrical conductor on a first surface thereof in electrical contact with said piezoelectrical ceramic element, and has a second electrical conductor on a second surface thereof in electrical contact with said front driver.
- 2. The ultrasonic generating unit of claim 1, further comprising an ultrasonic tank and said plurality of transducers connected to the tank, each of the transducers having a diameter X and being responsive to applied energy to generate ultrasound within the tank, the transducers being spaced and arranged at distances of about 2× between any two adjacent transducers.
- 3. A generating unit according to claim 2, further comprising a G-10 isolator bonded between the tank and at least one of the transducers.
- 4. A generating unit according to claim 2, further comprising epoxy to bond the G-10 isolator to the transducer and the tank.
