Claims
- 1. A method of fusing a toner composition which comprises contacting the toner composition with a toner fusing agent, which toner fusing agent comprises at least one perfluorinated C1-C4 alkyl alkyl ether or at least one chlorine-free hydrofluorocarbon selected from the group consisting of HCF2CHFCF2CH2F, CF3CF2CH2CH2F, CF3CFHCFHCF2CF3, HCF2CHFCHFCF2H, HCF2CHFCF2H, CF3(CF2)2CH2CH3, (CF3)2CFCH2CH3, H(CF2)4CH2F, CF3(CF2)3CH2CH3, and C8H6F10.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said toner fusing agent further comprises at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of C1-C8 alcohols, C1-C8 ketones, C1-C8 esters, and miscible C1-C8 alkanes.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein said toner fusing agent composition further comprises at least one toner stabilizer.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein the toner stabilizer is selected from the group consisting of nitroalkanes having from about 2 to about 3 carbon atoms, phosphite esters having from about 12 to about 30 carbon atoms, acetals having from about 4 to about 7 carbon atoms, amines having from about 6 to about 8 carbon atoms and mixtures thereof.
- 5. The method of claim 3 wherein the toner stabilizer is selected from the group consisting of 1,4-dioxane, nitromethane, epoxybutane and mixtures thereof.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein said toner fusing agent composition further comprises at least one toner stabilizer and at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of C1-C8 alcohols, C1-C8 ketones, C1-C8 esters, and miscible C1-C8 alkanes.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein the toner composition comprises a polyester or a styrenic acrylic polymer.
- 8. The method of claim 1 wherein said toner fusing agent comprises at least one chlorine-free hydrofluorocarbon selected from the group consisting of HCF2CHFCF2CH2F, CF3CF2CH2CH2F, CF3CFHCFHCF2CF3, HCF2CHFCHFCF2H, HCF2CHFCF2H, CF3(CF2)2CH2CH3, (CF3)2CFCH2CH3, H(CF2)4CH2F, CF3(CF2)3CH2CH3,and C8H6F10.
- 9. The method of claim 1 wherein the hydrofluorocarbon is selected from the group consisting of HCF2CHFCF2H and C8H6F10.
- 10. The method of claim 1 wherein the hydrofluorocarbon is HCF2CHFCF2H.
- 11. The method of claim 1 wherein the hydrofluorocarbon is C8H6F10.
