Claims
- 1. A print media sensor assembly comprising:
- a base defining a slot having a plurality of opposing detents;
- a slide, for mounting a sensor therein, slidably mounted within the slot, the slide having at least one bump formed thereon; and
- a plurality of predetermined locations formed within the base adjacent to the slot such that the slide is adjustably positioned and releasably secured in a predetermined location when the at least one bump engages the detents.
- 2. A print media sensor assembly as recited in claim 1, wherein the slide includes a distal end portion having lateral extensions extending from a longitudinal axis and engaging a lower surface of the base; the lateral extensions having the at least one bump disposed thereon.
- 3. A print media sensor assembly as recited in claim 2, wherein the lateral extensions provide a force for holding bumps within a detent position.
- 4. A print media sensor assembly as recited in claim 3, wherein the lateral extensions extend downward defining a bowed structure such that when the bowed structure is deflected the force is exerted.
- 5. A print media sensor assembly as recited in claim 1, wherein the plurality of predetermined locations is eight.
- 6. A printer sensor assembly comprising:
- a base having rounded edges and defining a longitudinal slot;
- a slide slidably mounted within the slot, the slide having a distal end portion with lateral extensions extending from a longitudinal axis and engaging a lower surface of the base; the lateral extensions having at least one bump disposed thereon, the lateral extensions provide a force for holding bumps within a detent position by defining a bowed structure such that when the bowed structure is deflected the force is exerted;
- a sensor mounted on the slide; and
- a plurality of detents having predetermined locations formed within the base adjacent to the slot such that slide is adjustably positionable and locked in a predetermined location when the at least one bump engages the detents.
- 7. A print media sensor assembly as recited in claim 5, wherein the distal end portion includes a finger pad thereon.
