Claims
- 1. A composition comprising:
- (A) a copolyimide or a mixture of copolyimides consisting of 100-70 mol % of recurring structural units of the formula I and 0-30 mol % of recurring structural units of the formula II ##STR50## in which Z.sup.a is a tetravalent aromatic tetracarboxylic acid radical other than that of thioxanthonetetracarboxylic acid, the carboxyl groups thereof in each case being located in pairs in the ortho-position or peri-position relative to one another, and X.sup.a is a divalent aromatic diamine radical which, in at least one ortho-position relative to at least one nitrogen atom, carries a hydrocarbon substituent having at least one aliphatic .alpha.-hydrogen atom or X.sup.a is a radical of the formula III ##STR51## in which X.sup.c is a divalent aromatic diamine radical which, in ortho-position relative to the two nitrogen atoms, carries in each case at least one monovalent hydrocarbon substitutent having at least one aliphatic .alpha.-hydrogen atom, and n assumes an average value of 1.0 to 2.5, Z.sup.b is as defined for Z.sup.a and X.sup.b is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic or araliphatic diamine radical, excluding a radical of the formula III, the total quantity of thioxanthone radicals in component A), relative to the total quantity of all tetracarboxylic acid radicals in this component, being 2.0 to 40 mol %, and
- B) a polyimide or a mixture of polyimides consisting of 100-80 mol % of recurring structural units of the formula XXXI and of 0-20 mol % of recurring structural units of the formula XXXII ##STR52## in which Z.sup.d and Z.sup.e independently of one another can assume one of the meanings defined for Z.sup.a, X.sup.j can assume one of the meanings defined for X.sup.a with the exception of the formula III and X.sup.k can assume one of the meanings defined for X.sup.b, it being necessary in the case of the A)/B) mixtures that at least 70 mol % of the radicals Z.sup.d and, if appropriate, Z.sup.e in component B), relative to the total quantity of these radicals, are identical to the radicals Z.sup.a and, if appropriate, Z.sup.b in component A) and at least 70 mol % of the radicals X.sup.j and, if appropriate, X.sup.k in component B), relative to the total quantity of these radicals are identical to the radicals X.sup.a other than those of the formula III and, if appropriate, to the radicals X.sup.b in component A),
- or it being necessary that at least 40 mol % of the radicals X.sup.j and, if appropriate, X.sup.k in component B), relative to the total quantity of these radicals, are identical to the radicals X.sup.g, and that in all combinations A)/B), the quantity of the component A) is selected such that the quantity of thioxanthonetetracarboxylic acid radicals, relative to the total quantity of the tetracarboxylic acid radicals in the polyimide mixture, is between 5.0 and 30 mol %.
- 2. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the quantity of thioxanthonetetracarboxylic acid radicals, relative to the total quantity of the tetracarboxylic acid radicals in the polyimide mixture, is between 5.0 and 20 mol %.
- 3. A composition containing components A) and B) according to claim 1, wherein, in component A), the radicals X.sup.a other than those of the formula III and the radicals X.sup.c are substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl in each of the two ortho-positions relative to both nitrogen atoms, the carbonyl groups in the radical of the formula III are in the 3,3',4,4'-position n is an average value from 1.0 to 1.5 and Z.sup.a and, if appropriate, Z.sup.b are radicals of the formula IV or IX ##STR53## in which the free bonds are in each case located in pairs in the ortho-position relative to one another, R.sup.1 is a group of the formulae --S--, --SO.sub.2 --, --NR.sup.2 --, --SiR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, SiR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --O--SiR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, --O--R.sup.5 --SiR.sup.3 R.sup.5 --O--, --CO--, --O--, --CH.sub.2 --, --C(CH.sub.3).sub.2 -- or --C(CF.sub.3).sub.2 --, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkly, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently of one another and C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 perfluoroalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 perfluoroalkoxy and R.sup.5 is alkylene, and wherein, in component B), Z.sup.d and, if appropriate, Z.sup.e are radicals of the formula IV or IX, and X.sup.j is a divalent aromatic diamine radical which is substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl in at least one orthoposition relative to both nitrogen atoms, at least 80 mol % of the radicals Z.sup.d and Z.sup.e being identical to the radicals Z.sup.a and Z.sup.b, and at least 80 mol % of the radicals X.sup.j and, if appropriate, X.sup.k being identical to the radicals X.sup.a other than those of the formula III and, if appropriate, to the radicals X.sup.b.
- 4. A composition according to claim 3, wherein Z.sup.a and, if appropriate, Z.sup.b are radicals of the formula IX in which R.sup.1 is --CO--, --O-- or --C(CF.sub.3).sub.2 -- and wherein Z.sup.d and, if appropriate, Z.sup.e are radicals of the formula IX, in which R.sup.1 is --O-- or --C(CF.sub.3).sub.2 --.
- 5. A composition according to claim 1, wherein component A) consists of 100 mol % of recurring structural units of the formula I and the component B) consists of 100 mol % of recurring structural units of the formula XXXI and X.sup.j is a divalent aromatic diamine radical which is substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl in both ortho-positions relative to each of the two nitrogen atoms.
