Claims
- 1. A system for transferring a plurality of panels from a first location to at least a second location, each of the plurality of panels having first and second walls defined by first and second laterally-spaced sidewalls and first and second longitudinally-spaced endwalls, said system comprising:
a carriage assembly adapted to supportably engage at least a first of the plurality of panels; a position adjustment system interconnectable to said carriage assembly for moving at least the first of the plurality of panels in a first direction; a drive system, interconnectable to said carriage assembly, for at least moving the first of the plurality of panels in a second direction, from the first location to at least the second location; and a control system, in electrical communication with at least said drive system, for controlling movement of the first of the plurality panels at least between the first location and the second location.
- 2. A system, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first of the plurality of panels is oriented horizontally.
- 3. A system, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said carriage assembly comprises at least first and second support members for abuttingly engaging first and second sections, respectively, of the first wall of the first of the plurality of panels.
- 4. A system, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said position adjustment system includes a lift system adapted to move the first of the plurality of panels in said first direction to a first position.
- 5. A system, as claimed in claim 4, wherein said control system is in electrical communication with said position adjustment system to control movement the first of the plurality of panels to at least said first position.
- 6. A system, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said control system is in electrical communication with at least a first sensor, said first sensor adapted to sense at least when the first of the plurality of panels is positioned at the first location.
- 7. A system, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said drive system includes at least a first motor for driving at least first and second gears, said first and second gears being operatively interfacable with first and second gear racks, respectively, of first and second rails, said first and second rails extending at least between the first and second locations.
- 8. A system, as claimed in claim 7, wherein said first motor is operatively interconnectable to said position adjustment system to move the first of the plurality of panels in said first direction from a first position to at least a second position.
- 9. A system, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said carriage assembly at the first location is oriented horizontally and includes at least a first support member for engaging at least the first of the plurality of panels, and said carriage assembly at the second location is oriented vertically, said carriage assembly further comprising at least a first clamp for supportably engaging at least the first of the plurality of panels at the second location.
- 10. A system for transferring at least a first panel between first and second locations, said system comprising:
a carriage assembly for supportably engaging at least the first panel; a drive system operably interconnectable to said carriage assembly for moving at least the first panel in at least one of first and second directions, said first direction corresponding to moving at least the first panel from the first location toward the second location; and a control system for controlling movement of at least the first panel in said first and second directions.
- 11. A system, as claimed in claim 10, wherein said second direction is perpendicular to said first direction.
- 12. A system, as claimed in claim 10, wherein the first panel is oriented horizontally at at least the first location, said carriage assembly having at least first and second support members for abuttably engaging first and second sections, respectively, of the first panel.
- 13. A system, as claimed in claim 10, wherein the first panel is oriented vertically at at least the second location, said carriage assembly having at least first and second clamp members for supportably engaging first and second end portions, respectively, of the first panel.
- 14. A system, as claimed in claim 13, wherein the first and second end portions of the first panel are located on a first end of the first panel, and a third end portion of the first panel is located on a second end of the first panel, wherein said carriage assembly includes a third clamp member adapted to abuttingly engage said third end portion of the first panel to maintain verticality of the first panel.
- 15. A system, as claimed in claim 13, wherein at least said first clamp member is translatable relative to the first end portion of the first panel.
- 16. A system, as claimed in claim 10, wherein said carriage assembly includes a lift assembly operatively interconnectable to said drive system to move the first panel in said second direction, said second direction corresponding to moving the first panel from a first position to at least a second position.
- 17. A system, as claimed in claim 16m wherein said control system is in electrical communication with a first sensor adapted to sense at least whether the first panel is positioned at the second position.
- 18. A system, as claimed in claim 10, wherein said control system is in electrical communication with at least a first sensor adapted to sense whether the first panel is positioned at the second location.
