Claims
- 1. An automatic document feeder for feeding a document onto a platen glass of an image forming apparatus and discharging the document therefrom, the automatic document feeder comprising:
- a first frame which is pivoted on the image forming apparatus;
- a conveyer belt which is an endless belt laid between a driving roller and a driven roller, the conveyer belt rotating with rotation of the driving roller and conveying a document on the platen glass;
- a second frame for holding the driving roller and the driven roller;
- a connecting member for connecting the second frame with the first frame such that the second frame is movable from and to the first frame within a specified range; and
- an urging member for urging the second frame in a direction toward the first frame.
- 2. An automatic document feeder as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pivot of the first frame is at a rear side of the image forming apparatus, and the urging member is disposed near the pivot.
- 3. An automatic document feeder as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a driving source for rotating the driving roller, the driving source being provided on the second frame.
- 4. An automatic document feeder for feeding a document onto a platen glass of an image forming apparatus and discharging the document therefrom, the automatic document feeder comprising:
- a frame which is pivoted by a pivot on the image forming apparatus;
- document conveying means comprising a driving roller, a driven roller and a conveyer belt laid between the rollers endlessly, the driving roller and the driven roller being held by the frame; and
- a connecting member for connecting the frame with the pivot of the image forming apparatus such that the frame is movable in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the pivot of the frame extends.
- 5. An automatic document feeder as claimed in claim 4, wherein the frame comprises:
- a first frame; and
- a second frame which is connected with the pivot of the image forming apparatus by the connecting member, the second frame for holding the document conveying means, and being movable from and to the first frame.
- 6. An automatic document feeder as claimed in claim 5, wherein as the first frame is pivoting toward the image forming apparatus, the second frame is moving in a direction away from the pivot of the image forming apparatus.
- 7. An automatic document feeder for feeding a document onto a platen glass of an image forming apparatus and discharging the document therefrom, the automatic document feeder comprising:
- a first frame which is pivoted on the image forming apparatus;
- document conveying means comprising a driving roller, a driven roller and a conveyer belt laid between the rollers endlessly;
- a second frame for holding the document conveying means; and
- a connecting member for connecting the second frame with the first frame such that the second frame is movable in a direction separating from the pivot of the first frame to compensate for shifting of the document during closing of the first frame.
- 8. An automatic document feeder for feeding a document onto a platen glass of an image forming apparatus and discharging the document therefrom, the automatic document feeder comprising:
- a first frame which is pivoted on the image forming apparatus;
- a second frame which is movably connected with said first frame and supports a driving roller and a driven roller;
- a conveyer belt which is laid between the driving roller and the driven roller so as to convey the document on the platen glass; and
- a spring provided between said first frame and said second frame to attract each other.
- 9. An automatic document feeder as claimed in claim 8, wherein said spring is connected at a portion of said second frame on which a motor for driving said driving roller is provided.
- 10. An automatic document feeder for feeding a document onto a platen glass of an image forming apparatus and discharging the document therefrom, the automatic document feeder comprising:
- a conveyer belt which is laid between a driving roller and a driven roller so as to convey the document on the platen glass;
- a first frame which is rotatably provided on the image forming apparatus; and
- a second frame which supports said driving roller and said driven roller;
- a connecting mechanism which slidably connects said second frame with said first frame said second frame being movable with respect to said first frame in a direction perpendicular to an axis of rotation of said first frame such that the motion of the second frame prevents shifting of a document placed on the platen glass towards the axis of rotation of the first frame.
