The preferred embodiment of the invention is a flexible plastic cylindrical bag 1 as shown in FIG. 1. When the bag is placed around a beer keg 2 and filled with ice and water as shown in pictorial view FIG. 3 and cross section view FIG. 4, the water pressure results in surrounding contact of the inside bag wall with the surface of the beer keg, thus ensuring quick cooling and maintenance of the temperature of the keg and contents near zero degrees Celsius so long as the ice remains. Before and after use the device may be folded flat for compact storage and reuse.
It may readily be envisioned that the preferred embodiment of the invention is not limited to use with only five liter beer kegs, but also may be designed for use with other sizes and types of containers.
