Claims
- 1. Carbon fluoride particles having a true specific gravity of 1.7 to 2.5, a number-average particle size diameter of 0.01 to 50 .mu.m and a particle size distribution such that at least 50% of the carbon fluoride particles fall within the range of .+-.20% of the number-average particle size diameter and wherein the atomic ratio of fluorine atoms to carbon atoms, represented as F/C, is 0.001 to 0.5 and the F/C of the particle at the surface is 0.1 to 2.0 and is larger than the F/C of the particle.
- 2. The carbon fluoride particles of claim 1, wherein the F/C of the particle is 0.01 to 0.3 and the F/C at the surface of the particle is 0.3 to 2.0.
- 3. Additives for toners used to develop electrostatic images, comprising carbon fluoride particles wherein the true specific gravity is 1.7 to 2.5, the number-average particle size diameter is 0.01 to 10 .mu.m and a particle size distribution is such that at least 50% of the carbon fluoride particles fall within the range of .+-.20% of the number-average particle size diameter and wherein the atomic ratio of fluorine atoms to carbon atoms, represented as F/C, is 0.001 to 0.3 and the F/C of the particle at the surface is 0.1 to 2.0 and is larger than the F/C of the particle.
- 4. The additives for toners used to develop electrostatic images as claimed in claim 3, wherein the number-average particle size is 0.1 to 10 .mu.m.
- 5. The additives for toners used to develop electrostatic images as claimed in claim 3, wherein the F/C of the particle is 0.001 to 0.2, and the F/C of the particle at the surface is 0.3 to 2.0.
- 6. The additives for toners used to develop electrostatic images as claimed in claim 3, wherein the degree of sphere is 0.8 to 1.0.
- 7. Fixing rollers coated with composite materials including the carbon fluoride particles of claim 1, wherein the composite materials are prepared by dispersing the carbon fluoride particles into resins or rubbers, or the composite materials are in the form of film or coating made by coating the carbon fluoride particles on a substrate.
- 8. Composite particles in which particles of resins, rubbers, metals, ceramics or carbons are coated with the carbon fluoride particles of claim 1.
- 9. Composite particles obtainable by impact-mixing or admixing the carbon fluoride particles of claim 1 by means of an impact surface improving machine or a high speed mixing tank.
- 10. A process for preparing fixing rollers which comprises electro-depositing the composite particles of claim 8 on a roller, and thereafter heat-treating to produce coatings containing the composite particles.
- 11. Gas diffusion electrodes which comprise a layer containing the carbon fluoride particles of claim 1.
- 12. Phosphoric acid fuel cells including the gas diffusion electrode of claim 11.
- 13. Air batteries including the gas diffusion electrode of claim 11.
- 14. Alkaline storage batteries containing an anode having the carbon fluoride particles of claim 1.
- 15. The carbon fluoride particles of claim 1, wherein a degree of sphere is 0.8 to 1.0.
