Claims
- 1. An apparatus for inverting a cassette containing at least one piece of plate material comprising:a base; a back attached to said base; a top removably attached to said back; a pivot attached to said back; and a retractable material holder movably supported relative to said base and corresponding to at least one piece of plate material.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said retractable material holder comprises opposing support blocks, each said opposing support block containing at least one notch corresponding to at least one piece of plate material.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2, further comprising a reciprocatable side actuator attached to said opposing support blocks.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein said reciprocatable side actuator is attached by a first actuating rod to one of said support blocks and to a pivot hinge affixed to said base, and said pivot hinge is attached by a second actuating rod to another of said opposing support blocks.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein said opposing support blocks are movably mounted to at least one guide rod attached to said base.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein:said base further comprises top tabs extending from opposing sides of said base; and said top further comprises top tabs extending from opposing sides of said top, said top tabs being in alignment with said base tabs when said top is attached to said back.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 6, further comprising extendable and retractable top actuators attached to said top tabs and positioned to selectively engage said top tabs.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 7 wherein the cassette is rectangularly shaped having substantially open opposing supporting sides, an open front side, a substantially open supporting back side, a top face, and a base face and whereinsaid base further comprises a base front portion, a base back portion and is substantially rectangularly shaped having a dimension from said base front portion to said base back portion that is substantially equivalent to another dimension from the open front side to the back side of the cassette and a dimension between said opposing sides of said base that is greater than the dimension between the opposing sides of the cassette.
- 9. An apparatus for inverting a cassette containing at least one piece of plate material comprising:a base having base tabs extending therefrom; a back attached to said base; a top removably attached to said back and having top tabs protruding therefrom in alignment with said base tabs; a plurality of extendable and retractable top actuators attached to said base tabs; a pivot attached to said back; and a plurality of retractable material holders attached to said base.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said plurality of retractable material holders comprise opposing support blocks, wherein each said support block has at least one notch therein corresponding to at least one price of plate material.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the cassette is rectangularly shaped having substantially open opposing supporting sides, an open front side, a substantially open supporting back side, a top face and a base face and whereinsaid base further comprises a base front portion, a base back portion and is substantially rectangularly shaped having a dimension from said base front portion to said base back portion that is substantially equivalent to another dimension from the open front side to the back side of the cassette and a dimension between said opposing sides of said base that is greater than the dimension between the opposing sides of the cassette.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 10 further comprising at least one side block attached to each said opposing support block, each said at least one side block being movably supported relative to said base on at least one guide rod attached to said base.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 12 further comprising a reciprocatable side actuator attached to one said side block by a first actuating rod, said first actuating rod affixed to a pivot hinge pivotally attached to said base, said pivot hinge attached to another said side block by a second actuating rod extending therebetween.
- 14. An apparatus for inverting a cassette containing one or more semiconductor substrate wafers comprising:a base having base tabs extending therefrom; a back attached to said base; a top removably attached to said back and having top tabs protruding therefrom in alignment with said base tabs; a plurality of extendable and retractable top actuators attached to said base tabs; a plurality of extendable and retractable material holders attached to said base; and a pivot attached to said back.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein said plurality of retractable material holders comprise opposing support blocks, wherein each said support block has at least one notch therein corresponding to at least one semiconductor substrate wafer comprising.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 15 wherein the cassette is rectangularly shaped having substantially open opposing supporting sides, an open front side, a substantially open supporting back side, a top face and a base face and whereinsaid base further comprises a base front portion, a base back portion and is substantially rectangularly shaped having a dimension from said base front portion to said base back portion that is substantially equivalent to the dimension from the open front side to the back side of the cassette and a dimension between said opposing sides of said base that is greater than the dimension between the opposing sides of the cassette.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 15 further comprising at least one side block attached to each said opposing support block, each said at least one side block being movably supported relative to said base on at least one guide rod attached to said base.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 17 further comprising a reciprocatable side actuator attached to one said side block by a first actuating rod, said first actuating rod affixed to a pivot hinge pivotally attached to said base, said pivot hinge attached to another said side block by a second actuating rod extending therebetween.
- 19. An apparatus for processing a cassette containing at least one semiconductor substrate wafer, comprising:a base having base tabs extending therefrom; a back attached to said base; a top removably attached to said back and having top tabs protruding therefrom in alignment with said base tabs; a plurality of extendable and retractable top actuators attached to said base tabs; a plurality of extendable and retractable material holders attached to said base; a pivot attached to said back; and a coating apparatus adjacent said base.
- 20. The apparatus of claim 19 wherein said plurality of retractable material holders comprise opposing support blocks, wherein each said support block has at least one notch therein corresponding to at least one semiconductor substrate wafer.
- 21. The apparatus of claim 20 wherein the cassette is rectangularly shaped having substantially open opposing supporting sides, an open front side, a substantially open supporting back side, a top face and a base face and whereinsaid base further comprises a base front portion, a base back portion and is substantially rectangularly shaped having a dimension from said base front portion to said base back portion that is substantially equivalent to another dimension from the open front side to the back side of the cassette and a dimension between said opposing sides of said base that is greater than the dimension between the opposing sides of the cassette.
- 22. A method of inverting a cassette of semiconductor substrate wafers comprising:placing the semiconductor substrate wafers in a cassette; engaging the semiconductor substrate wafers with material holders to secure the semiconductor wafers within the cassette; inverting the cassette containing the semiconductor substrate wafers; and disengaging the material holder from the semiconductor substrate wafers.
- 23. The method of claim 22 further comprising:positioning a second surface of the semiconductor substrate wafers on a first support of the cassette following said placing the semiconductor substrate wafers in the cassette and prior to said engaging the semiconductor substrate wafers; and moving the semiconductor substrate wafers to a close proximate relation to a second support of the cassette following said engaging the semiconductor substrate wafers and rotating the cassette and prior to said disengaging the semiconductor substrate wafers.
