Claims
- 1. An isolated peptide comprising SEQ ID NO: 24.
- 2. An isolated polynucleotide which encodes the peptide of SEQ ID NO: 24.
- 3. A polynucleotide which encodes CEMA characterized by:
- a) nucleotide sequences which hybridize under stringent conditions with the polynucleotide of claim 2;
- b) nucleotide sequences which encode peptides with conservative variations from the amino acid sequences encoded by the DNA of claim 2;
- c) the nucleotide sequence of claim 2, wherein T is U;
- d) functional fragments of a), b), or c) which encode peptides which retain the biological activity of CEMA; and
- e) degenerate nucleotide sequences encoding the amino acid sequence as encoded by any of a), b), c) or d).
- 4. A recombinant expression vector which contains in operable linkage, the polynucleotide of claim 2.
- 5. A host cell which contains the recombinant expression vector of claim 4.
- 6. The host cell of claim 5, wherein the cell is a prokaryote.
- 7. The host cell of claim 6, wherein the prokaryote is E. coli.
