Claims
- 1. A data transfer method for transferring data to a plurality of driver circuits for driving a display apparatus, said method comprising the steps of:transferring in time series, through a common bus line, data which the driver circuits use together with address information of the driver circuit; comparing, at the driver circuits, an address determined per each drive circuit fixedly by a plurality of potentials supplied via a plurality of wiring different from the common bus line, with the address information transferred via the common bus line; and when the address fixedly determined matches with the address information, using the data transferred together with the address data by the driver circuit.
- 2. A method according to claim 1, wherein the driver circuit is an information side driver circuit, and the data transferred in time series together with the address information is display data.
- 3. A method according to claim 1, wherein the driver circuit is a scanning side driver circuit, and the data transferred in time series together with the address information is a scanning line selection signal.
- 4. A method according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of potentials comprise ground and reference potential.
- 5. A method according to claim 2, wherein each of the plurality of driver circuits includes data latch means for holding previous data until receiving new data, and outputs data based on the data held.
- 6. A method according to claim 2, wherein during the transferring step only the data of the driver circuit of which display data is changed is transferred.
- 7. A method according to claim 6, wherein each of the driver circuits has an output terminal for outputting the display apparatus, the output terminals are divided into plural blocks, and during the transferring step only data of the block of which display data is changed is transferred.
- 8. A method according to claim 3, wherein the address information is transferred during one clock.
- 9. A method according to claim 3, wherein the address information is transferred during two clocks.
