Claims
- 1. A recording/reproducing system for receiving a time-base compressed, bit-compressed, parity-added, modulated and transmitted digital signal to record/reproduce the digital signal, comprising:
- means for receiving the transmitted digital signal;
- means for demodulating the received signal;
- means for recording/reproducing the demodulated signal;
- recording control means for controlling a cylinder rotation speed and a tape speed so that the demodulated signal is recorded at a high speed by said recording/reproducing means;
- reproduction control means for controlling the cylinder rotation speed and the tape speed so that the recorded signal is reproduced at a normal speed;
- means for demodulating the reproduced signal;
- means for correcting any error in sound the demodulated reproduced signal; and
- means for bit-expanding the error-corrected signal.
- 2. A digital recording/reproducing system for recording/reproducing a digital signal in standard transmission and a data-compressed and time-base compressed digital signal in high-speed transmission onto/from the same recording medium, comprising:
- first determining means for determining whether an input signal is a signal in standard transmission or a signal in high-speed transmission;
- a circuit for data-compressing a determined standard-transmission input signal at a predetermined compression ratio;
- a circuit for subjecting the input signal to a predetermined signal processing for recording at a predetermined processing clock in accordance with the determination result of said first determining means;
- second determining means for determining whether standard reproduction or high-speed reproduction is to be made upon reproduction;
- a servo control circuit for making the setting to a predetermined signal processing clock, a predetermined cylinder rotation speed and a predetermined tape speed in accordance with the determination of said first determining means or the determination result of said second determining means;
- a circuit for subjecting a reproduced signal to a predetermined signal processing for reproduction at a predetermined processing clock in accordance with the determination result of said second determining means; and
- a circuit for data-expanding the reproduced signal at a predetermined expansion ratio upon standard-speed reproduction,
- whereby the input signal is recorded with a predetermined signal processing clock, a predetermined cylinder rotation speed and a predetermined tape speed being set so that a recording format on the recording medium becomes the same whether the input signal is the digital signal in standard transmission or the digital signal in high-speed transmission, and reproduction is made with a predetermined signal processing clock, a predetermined cylinder rotation speed and a predetermined tape speed being set in accordance with the determination of the standard-speed reproduction or the high-speed reproduction.
- 3. A digital recording/reproducing system according to claim 2, wherein the input signal in high-speed transmission is input to said recording signal processing circuit without being passed through said data-compressing circuit.
- 4. A digital recording/reproducing system according to claim 2, wherein an output format upon high-speed reproduction is the same as the recording format.
- 5. A digital recording/reproducing system according to claim 4, wherein the input signal in high-speed transmission is recorded without being passed through said data-compressing circuit and said recording signal processing circuit.
- 6. A digital transmission signal-processing system and recording/reproducing system, comprising:
- means for time-base compressing a digital signal;
- means for bit-compressing said digital signal;
- means for adding a parity signal for error correction to said bit-compressed signal;
- means for modulating said parity-added signal;
- means for transmitting said modulated signal;
- means for receiving said transmitted signal;
- means for demodulating said received signal;
- means for recording/reproducing said demodulated signal;
- recording control means for controlling a cylinder rotation speed and a tape speed so that said demodulated signal is recorded at a high speed by said recording/reproducing means;
- reproduction control means for controlling said cylinder rotation speed and said tape speed so that said recorded signal is reproduced at a normal speed;
- means for demodulating said reproduced signal;
- means for correcting any errors in said demodulated signal; and
- means for bit-expanding said error-corrected signal.
- 7. An information transmitting apparatus for transmitting a digital information signal, comprising:
- bit-compressing means for bit-compressing the digital information signal;
- control signal generating means for generating a control signal for recording the digital information signal;
- parity signal adding means for adding a parity signal for correcting errors which occur in a transmission path to the bit-compressed signal and to the control signal generated from said control signal generating means and for outputting the parity added bit-compressed signal and the parity added control signal;
- modulating means for modulating the parity added bit-compressed signal and the parity added control signal outputted from said parity signal adding means and for outputting a modulated signal thereof; and
- transmitting means for transmitting the modulated signal outputted from said modulating means.
- 8. An information transmitting apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the digital information signal includes a digital video signal and a digital audio signal.
- 9. An information transmitting apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the control signal includes record start information and record stop information for enabling control of a start and stop of recording of said digital information signal.
- 10. An information transmitting apparatus for transmitting a digital information signal, comprising:
- compressing means for bit-compressing and time-base compressing the digital information signal;
- control signal generating means for generating a control signal for recording the digital information signal;
- parity signal adding means for adding a parity signal for correcting errors which occur in a transmission path to the bit-compressed and time-base compressed signal and to the control signal generated from said control signal generating means and for outputting the parity added bit-compressed and time-based compressed signal and the parity added control signal;
- modulating means for modulating the parity added bit-compressed and time-base compressed signal and the parity added control signal outputted from said parity signal adding means and for outputting a modulated signal thereof; and
- transmitting means for transmitting the modulated signal outputted from said modulating means.
- 11. An information transmitting apparatus according to claim 10, wherein said compressing means first bit-compresses and then time-base compresses the digital information signal.
- 12. An information transmitting apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the digital information signal includes a digital video signal and a digital audio signal.
- 13. An information transmitting apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the control signal includes record start information and record stop information for enabling control of a start and stop of recording of the digital information signal.
- 14. An information transmitting apparatus for transmitting a digital information signal, comprising:
- a storing apparatus having at least storing means for storing the digital information signal and demodulation means for demodulating a reproduced signal from the storing means;
- bit-compressing means for bit-compressing a demodulated signal provided from said storing apparatus;
- parity signal adding means for adding a parity signal for error correction to an output signal from said bit-compressing means;
- modulating means, which differs from said demodulation means, for modulating an output signal from said parity signal adding means; and
- transmitting means for transmitting an output signal from said modulating means.
- 15. An information transmitting apparatus for transmitting a digital information signal, comprising:
- means for bit-compressing said digital information signal;
- time-base compressing means for time-base compressing an output signal from said bit-compressing means so that a time of the time-base compressed signal is less than a time of said output signal from said bit-compressing means; and
- transmitting an output from said time-base compressing means.
- 16. An information transmitting apparatus for transmitting a digital information signal according to claim 15, wherein said time-base compressing means comprises:
- a recording system signal processing circuit including at least adding means for adding a code to correct errors and recording modulation processing means;
- a recording/reproducing apparatus for recording an output from said recording system signal processing circuit;
- a servo control circuit to control a recording/reproducing time of said recording/reproducing apparatus;
- a reproducing system signal processing circuit including at least demodulation means for demodulating a reproducing signal modulated by said recording modulation processing means from said recording/reproducing apparatus and means for detecting and correcting errors based on said code added to correct errors; and
- said servo control circuit controlling said recording/reproducing apparatus so that reproducing time is less than recording time of said recording/reproducing apparatus.
- 17. An information transmitting method for transmitting a digital information signal, said method comprising the steps of:
- bit-compressing the digital information signal;
- generating a control signal for recording the digital information signal;
- adding a parity signal for correcting errors which occur in a transmission path to the bit-compressed signal and to the generated control signal and providing the parity added bit-compressed signal and the parity added control signal;
- modulating the parity added bit-compressed signal and the parity added control signal and for outputting a modulated signal thereof; and transmitting the modulated signal.
- 18. An information transmitting method for transmitting a digital information signal, said method comprising the steps of:
- bit-compressing and time-base compressing the digital information signal;
- generating a control signal for recording the digital information signal;
- adding a parity signal for correcting errors which occur in a transmission path to the bit-compressed and time-base compressed signal and to the generated control signal and providing a parity added bit-compressed and time-base compressed signal and a parity added control single;
- modulating the parity added bit-compressed and time-base compressed signal and the parity added control signal and for outputting a modulated signal thereof; and
- transmitting the modulated signal.
- 19. An information transmitting method for transmitting an information signal, said method comprising the steps of:
- storing the information signal and then reading out the stored signal;
- demodulating the read out signal and providing a demodulated signal;
- bit-compressing the demodulated signal and providing a bit-compressed signal;
- adding a parity signal for error correction to the bit-compressed signal and providing a parity added signal;
- modulating, which differs from the step of demodulating, the parity added signal and providing a modulated signal; and
- transmitting the modulated signal.
- 20. An information transmitting method for transmitting a digital information signal, said method comprising the steps of:
- bit-compressing said digital information signal and providing a bit-compressed signal;
- time-base compressing said bit-compressed signal so that a time of the time-base compressed signal is less than a time of the bit-compressed signal and providing a time-base compressed signal; and
- transmitting said time-base compressed signal.
- 21. An information sending method comprising the steps of:
- compressing and digitizing data corresponding to a video program and storing the compressed and digitized data at a source;
- sending digitized and compressed data signals corresponding to the video program from said source to a selected receiver so that a time for sending digitized and compressed data signals corresponding to the video program is less than a time for the video program;
- receiving said sent signals at said selected receiver to obtain said compressed and digitized data;
- expanding said compressed and digitized data to obtain data corresponding to the video program and providing expanded data corresponding to the video program; and
- outputting said expanded data corresponding to the video program.
- 22. A recording/reproducing system for receiving a time-base compressed, bit-compressed, parity-added, modulated and transmitted digital signal to record/reproduce the digital signal, comprising:
- means for receiving the transmitted digital signal;
- means for demodulating the received signal and outputting a demodulated signal;
- means for recording/reproducing the demodulated signal;
- recording control means for controlling a tape speed so that the demodulated signal is recorded at a high speed by said recording/reproducing means and providing a recorded signal;
- reproduction control means for controlling the tape speed so that the recorded signal is reproduced at a normal speed and providing a reproduced signal;
- means for demodulating the reproduced signal and outputting a demodulated signal;
- means for correcting any error found in the demodulated signal and providing an error-corrected signal; and
- means for bit-expanding the error-corrected signal.
- 23. A digital transmission signal processing system and recording/reproducing system, comprising:
- means for time-base compressing a digital signal and providing a time-based compressed signal;
- means for bit-compressing said digital signal and providing a bit-compressed signal;
- means for adding a parity signal for error correction to said bit-compressed signal and outputting a parity-added signal;
- means for modulating said parity-added signal and providing a modulated signal;
- means for transmitting said modulated signal and outputting a transmitted signal;
- means for receiving said transmitted signal;
- means for demodulating said received signal and providing a demodulated signal;
- means for recording/reproducing said demodulated signal and providing a demodulated signal;
- recording control means for controlling a tape speed so that said demodulated signal is recorded at a high speed by said recording/reproducing means and providing a recorded signal;
- reproduction control means for controlling said tape speed so that said recorded signal is reproduced at a normal speed and providing a reproduced signal;
- means for demodulating said reproduced signal add providing a demodulated signal;
- means for correcting any errors in said demodulated signal; and
- means for bit-expanding said error-corrected signal and providing an error-corrected signal.
- 24. An information transmitting apparatus for transmitting a digital information signal, comprising:
- compressing means for compressing the digital information signal;
- control signal generating means for generating a control signal for recording the digital information signal;
- parity signal adding means for adding a parity signal for correcting errors which occur in a transmission path to the compressed signal and to the control signal generated from said control signal generating means and for outputting the parity added compressed signal and the parity added control signal;
- modulating means for modulating the parity added compressed signal and the parity added control signal outputted from said parity signal adding means and for outputting a modulated signal thereof; and
- transmitting means for transmitting the modulated signal outputted from said modulating means.
- 25. An information transmitting apparatus according to claim 24, wherein the digital information signal includes a digital video signal and a digital audio signal.
- 26. An information transmitting apparatus according to claim 24, wherein the control signal includes record start information and record stop information for enabling control of a start and stop of recording of said digital information signal.
