Claims
- 1. A purified and isolated DNA molecule having a nucleotide sequence encoding human interleukin-9 containing methionine at position 117 as set forth in SEQ ID NO.26 or a fragment thereof of 10 or more base pairs encoding methionine at position 117.
- 2. The purified and isolated DNA molecule of claim 1 and degenerate sequences thereof.
- 3. The purified and isolated DNA molecule of claim 1, wherein said DNA molecule is genomic.
- 4. The purified and isolated DNA molecule of claim 1, wherein said DNA molecule is used for the expression of IL-9 RNA.
- 5. The purified and isolated DNA molecule of claim 1, wherein said DNA molecule is used for the expression of IL-9 protein.
- 6. A method for preparing an interleukin-9 polypeptide comprising the steps of:
- (a) culturing the DNA molecule of claim 1 under conditions that provide for expression of the interleukin-9 polypeptide; and
- (b) recovering the expressed interleukin-9 polypeptide.
- 7. An expression vector having a sequence of the DNA molecule of claim 1 under control of regulatory elements permitting expression of said sequence in a cell.
- 8. A unicellular host transformed or transfected with the DNA molecule of claim 1.
- 9. The unicellular host of claim 8, wherein the unicellular host is selected from the group consisting of bacteria, yeast, mammalian cells, plant cells, insect cells, and human cell in tissue culture.
- 10. The unicellular host of claim 8, wherein the unicellular host is selected from the group consisting of E. coli, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Streptomyces, yeast, CHO, R1.1, B-W, LM, COS 1, COS 7, BSC1, BSC40, BMT10, and Sf9 cells.
- 11. The unicellular host of claim 8, wherein the unicellular host is a yeast selected from the group consisting of Saccharomyces, Pichia, Candida, Hansenula, and Torulopis.
- 12. A composition comprising the DNA molecule of claim 1 in a carrier.
- 13. A recombinant DNA molecule having a nucleotide sequence encoding human interleukin-9 containing methionine at position 117 as set forth in SEQ ID NO.26 or a fragment thereof of 10 or more base pairs encoding methionine at position 117.
- 14. A purified and isolated RNA molecule having a nucleotide sequence encoding human interleukin-9 containing methionine at position 117 corresponding to the DNA sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:26 or a fragment thereof of 10 or more base pairs encoding methionine at position 117.
- 15. A purified and isolated nucleic acid molecule selected from a group of DNA and RNA having a nucleotide sequence encoding human interleukin-9 with methionine at position 117 corresponding to the DNA sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO.26 and containing at least 1 exon.
- 16. A purified and isolated molecule of claim 15 having from 1 to 4 exons.
- 17. A cell having the purified and isolated molecule of claim 16.
- 18. The purified and isolated molecule of claim 15, wherein exon 2 is deleted.
- 19. A cell having the purified and isolated molecule of claim 18.
- 20. The purified and isolated molecule of claim 15, wherein exon 3 is deleted.
- 21. A cell having the purified and isolated molecule of claim 20.
- 22. The purified and isolated molecule of claim 15, wherein exons 2 and 3 are deleted.
- 23. A cell having the purified and isolated molecule of claim 22.
