Claims
- 1. A nucleic acid molecule comprising a first nucleotide sequence encoding a Vpx polypeptide fused in frame to a second nucleotide sequence encoding an Integrase polypeptide, wherein said Vpx polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpx polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 2. The nucleic acid molecule of claim 1, wherein said first nucleotide sequence encodes a full length Vpx polypeptide.
- 3. A nucleic acid molecule comprising a first nucleotide sequence encoding a Vpx polypeptide fused in frame to a second nucleotide sequence encoding a Reverse Transcriptase polypeptide, wherein said Vpx polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpx polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 4. The nucleic acid molecule of claim 3, wherein said first nucleotide sequence encodes a full length Vpx polypeptide.
- 5. A nucleic acid molecule comprising a first nucleotide sequence encoding a Vpr polypeptide fused in frame to a second nucleotide sequence encoding an Integrase polypeptide, wherein said Vpr polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpr polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 6. The nucleic acid molecule of claim 5, wherein said first nucleotide sequence encodes a full length Vpr polypeptide.
- 7. A nucleic acid molecule comprising a first nucleotide sequence encoding a Vpr polypeptide fused in frame to a second nucleotide sequence encoding a Reverse Transcriptase polypeptide, wherein said Vpr polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpr polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 8. The nucleic acid molecule of claim 7, wherein said first nucleotide sequence encodes a full length Vpr polypeptide.
- 9. The nucleic acid molecule of claim 5, wherein said first nucleotide sequence is from a Human Immunodeficiency Virus or a Simian Immunodeficiency Virus.
- 10. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 1.
- 11. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 2.
- 12. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 3.
- 13. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 4.
- 14. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 5.
- 15. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 6.
- 16. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 7.
- 17. An expression plasmid comprising a nucleic acid molecule of claim 8.
- 18. The expression plasmid of claim 14, wherein said nucleic acid molecule is operably linked to a regulatory element necessary for expression of said nucleic acid molecule in a cell.
- 19. The expression plasmid of claim 18, wherein said regulatory element is selected from the group consisting of an HIV-2 RRE and an HIV-2 LTR.
- 20. The expression plasmid of claim 18, wherein said regulatory element comprises a promoter capable of driving expression in a cell.
- 21. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 1.
- 22. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 2.
- 23. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 3.
- 24. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 4.
- 25. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 5.
- 26. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 6.
- 27. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 7.
- 28. A cell having the nucleic acid molecule of claim 8.
- 29. The cell of claim 25, wherein said cell is selected from the group consisting of a bacterial cell, a mammalian cell, and an insect cell.
- 30. A polypeptide comprising a Vpx polypeptide fused in frame to a Reverse Transcriptase polypeptide, wherein said Vpx polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpx polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 31. The polypeptide of claim 30, wherein said polypeptide comprises a full length Vpx polypeptide.
- 32. A polypeptide comprising a Vpx polypeptide fused in frame to an Integrase polypeptide, wherein said Vpx polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpx polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 33. The polypeptide of claim 32, wherein said polypeptide comprises a full length Vpx polypeptide.
- 34. A polypeptide comprising a Vpr polypeptide fused in frame to a Reverse Transcriptase polypeptide, wherein said Vpr polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpr polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 35. The polypeptide of claim 34, wherein said polypeptide comprises a full length Vpr polypeptide.
- 36. A polypeptide comprising a Vpr polypeptide fused in frame to an Integrase polypeptide, wherein said Vpr polypeptide comprises at least a subfraction of the Vpr polypeptide, wherein said subfraction is capable of association with an HIV viron, an SIV viron, or a virus like particle.
- 37. The polypeptide of claim 36, wherein said polypeptide comprises a full length Vpr polypeptide.
