Claims
- 1. A method of reducing undesired specular surface reflections from a reflecting surface, wherein the reflecting surface is the surface of an interference photograph where the interference photograph is the photograph that results from the use of
- a layered photosensitive assembly comprising
- a photosensitive layer, and
- a reflecting layer,
- wherein during exposure, incident light passes through the photosensitive layer and is reflected by the reflecting layer as reflected light, and the incident light and the reflected light interfere with each other within the photosensitive layer and form interference patterns of light waves which are recorded by the photosensitive layer,
- the method comprising the following steps:
- 1. obtain the reflecting surface from which specular reflection is to be reduced, and
- 2. obtain a transparent sheet comprising a surface characterized as being covered with a multiplicity of small surfaces angled with respect to the general plane of the sheet, and
- 3. overlay the reflecting surface with the sheet.
- 2. The invention of claim 1 wherein cross sections of the sheet comprise cross sections of a multiplicity of small surfaces angled with respect to the general plane of the sheet.
- 3. The invention of claim 2 wherein the cross sections of the sheet comprise shapes characterized as being repetitive.
- 4. The invention of claim 3 wherein respective ones of the small surfaces intersect at an angle.
- 5. The invention of claim 1 wherein the thickness of the transparent sheet is characterized as being reduced from the thickest part of a single wedge that would cover the entire reflecting surface.
- 6. A method of producing a viewable interference photograph, wherein the interference photograph is the photograph that results from the use of
- a layered photosensitive assembly comprising
- a photosensitive layer, and
- a reflecting layer,
- wherein during exposure, incident light passes through the photosensitive layer and is reflected by the reflecting layer as reflected light, and the incident light and the reflected light interfere with each other within the photosensitive layer and form interference patterns of light waves which are recorded by the photosensitive layer,
- the method comprising the following steps,
- 1. obtain a transparent sheet, said sheet comprising a surface characterized as being covered with a multiplicity of small surfaces angled with respect to the general plane of the sheet, said multiplicity of small surfaces comprising shapes characterized as being repetitive, said shapes comprising parallel grooves, and
- 2. overlay the surface of the interference photograph with the sheet.
- 7. The invention of claim 6 wherein the shapes characterized as comprising parallel grooves are characterized in cross section as indicated by FIG. 7.
- 8. The invention of claim 6 wherein the shapes characterized as comprising parallel grooves are characterized in cross section as indicated by FIG. 7 and the spacing can vary between 0.010 and 0.0002 inch.
