Claims
- 1. A connector for connecting a first circuit board to a second circuit board, comprising:
a first contact having a first mating portion and a second mating portion; and a second contact having a first mating portion and a second mating portion, wherein the first and second contacts are interleaved.
- 2. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the first mating portion of the first contact and the first mating portion of the second contact are disposed on opposite sides of a plane so that the first mating portions engage opposite sides of a circuit board.
- 3. The connector according to claim 2, wherein the first mating portions face each other.
- 4. The connector according to claim 2, wherein the first mating portions are offset from each other.
- 5. The connector according to claim 2, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are disposed on opposite sides of a plane so that the second mating portions engage opposite sides of a circuit board.
- 6. The connector according to claim 2, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are coplanar so that the second mating portions engage the same side of a circuit board.
- 7. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the first mating portion of the first contact and the first mating portion of the second contact are coplanar so that the first mating portions engage the same side of a circuit board.
- 8. The connector according to claim 7, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are disposed on opposite sides of a plane so that the second mating portions engage opposite sides of a circuit board.
- 9. The connector according to claim 7, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are coplanar so that the second mating portions engage the same side of a circuit board.
- 10. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the first and second mating portions of the first contact are parallel to each other.
- 11. The connector according to claim 10, wherein the first and second mating portions of the second contact are parallel to each other.
- 12. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the first and second contacts are separated by a dielectric material.
- 13. The connector according to claim 1, wherein each contact further comprises a body between the first and second mating portions, and the first and second mating portions are disposed at an angle with respect to the body.
- 14. The connector according to claim 1, in combination with a circuit substrate having conductive elements, said contacts secured to said conductive elements.
- 15. A connector for connecting a first circuit board to a second circuit board, comprising:
a first substantially channel-shaped contact having a first mating portion and a second mating portion; and a second substantially channel-shaped contact having a first mating portion and a second mating portion.
- 16. The connector according to claim 15, wherein the first contact is disposed within the second contact so that the shapes are in the same direction.
- 17. The connector according to claim 15, wherein the first contact is disposed within the second contact so that the shapes are in opposing directions.
- 18. The connector according to claim 15, wherein the first mating portions are disposed one of side by side and overlapping each other.
- 19. The connector according to claim 18, wherein the second mating portions are disposed one of side by side and overlapping each other.
- 20. The connector according to claim 15, wherein the contacts are U-shaped.
- 21. The connector according to claim 15, in combination with a circuit substrate having conductive elements, said contacts secured to said conductive elements.
- 22. A connector for connecting a first circuit board to a second circuit board, comprising:
a first contact having a first mating portion and a second mating portion; and a second contact having a first mating portion and a second mating portion, wherein the first and second contacts are substantially identical and the first contact is oriented upside down with respect to the second contact.
- 23. The connector according to claim 22, wherein the first mating portion of the first contact and the first mating portion of the second contact are disposed on opposite sides of a plane so that the first mating portions engage opposite sides of a circuit board.
- 24. The connector according to claim 23, wherein the first mating portions face each other.
- 25. The connector according to claim 23, wherein the first mating portions are offset from each other.
- 26. The connector according to claim 23, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are disposed on opposite sides of a plane so that the second mating portions engage opposite sides of a circuit board.
- 27. The connector according to claim 23, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are coplanar so that the second mating portions engage the same side of a circuit board.
- 28. The connector according to claim 22, wherein the first mating portion of the first contact and the first mating portion of the second contact are coplanar so that the first mating portions engage the same side of a circuit board.
- 29. The connector according to claim 28, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are disposed on opposite sides of a plane so that the second mating portions engage opposite sides of a circuit board.
- 30. The connector according to claim 28, wherein the second mating portion of the first contact and the second mating portion of the second contact are coplanar so that the second mating portions engage the same side of a circuit board.
- 31. The connector according to claim 22, wherein the first and second mating portions of the first contact are parallel to each other.
- 32. The connector according to claim 31, wherein the first and second mating portions of the second contact are parallel to each other.
- 33. The connector according to claim 22, wherein the first and second contacts are separated by a dielectric material.
- 34. The connector according to claim 22, in combination with a circuit substrate having conductive elements, said contacts secured to said conductive elements.
