Claims
- 1. A microlamp structure comprising a structure having a first surface and a second surface, at least one light forming cavity within said structure between said first and second surfaces, and at least one of a reflecting surface and a lens structure disposed relative to said light forming cavity.
- 2. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein a light source is disposed in said at least one light forming cavity.
- 3. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said is one of a multilayer dielectric coating and a metalized surface of said reflecting surface.
- 4. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said reflecting surface is flat.
- 5. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said reflecting surface is curved.
- 6. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said reflecting surface is disposed on one of said first and second surfaces.
- 7. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said reflecting surface is disposed on at least a portion of said light forming cavity.
- 8. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said lens structure is a Fresnel refractive lens.
- 9. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said lens structure is a refractive binary optical system.
- 10. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said lens structure is disposed on one of said first and second surfaces.
- 11. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein said lens structure is disposed on at least a portion of said light forming cavity.
- 12. A microlamp structure according to claim 1, wherein both said light collection structure and said light directing structure are disposed relative to said light forming cavity.
- 13. A method of making a microlamp structure comprising the steps of: forming a light transmitting structure with at least one internal light forming cavity, providing first and second surfaces on said light transmitting structure relative to said cavity; and forming at least one of a reflecting surface and a lens structure relative to said cavity.
