Claims
- 1. One or a plurality of amino acid sequences that comprise an immunospecific epitope of an antibody produced by a hybridoma cell identified as UIC2 hybridoma (ATCC Accession No. HB11027).
- 2. An amino acid sequence of claim 1, wherein said sequence is located in an extracellular domain of the 170 kDa gene product of the mdr1 gene.
- 3. A method of reversing multidrug resistance in tumor cells, comprising administering to said primate a multidrug resistance reversing amount of a composition comprising an antibody selected from the group consisting of the UIC2 mAB, a complementarity-determining fragment of UIC2 mAB and a recombinant derivative UIC2 mAB in a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, or wherein said antibody further comprises a cytotoxin or radioisotope or both, covalently conjugated to said UIC2 mAB, fragment or recombinant derivative thereof, or any of the foregoing admixed with an anti-tumor effective amount of an anti-cancer cytotoxic drug.
- 4. A method of reversing multidrug resistance in primate cells in vitro comprising administering to said primate a multidrug resistance reversing amount of a composition comprising an antibody selected from the group consisting of the UIC2 mAB, a complementarity-determining fragment of UIC2 mAB and a recombinant derivative UIC2 mAB in a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, or wherein said antibody further comprises a cytotoxin or radioisotope or both, covalently conjugated to said UIC2 mAB, fragment or recombinant derivative thereof, or any of the foregoing admixed with an anti-tumor effective amount of an anti-cancer cytotoxic drug.
