Claims
- 1. An apparatus for mounting electronic components, comprising:
- an electronic component feeding member for feeding electronic components having lead wires that are tape-bonded with tapes;
- an insertion head for inserting lead wires of one of the electronic components fed from the feeding member into holes of a board after being separated from the tapes in an insertion operation;
- a fixing head, located so as to face the insertion head and located such that when a board has an electronic component mounted thereon, the board is between the fixing head and the insertion head, wherein said fixing head is operable to cut the lead wires, which have been inserted into the holes of the board, and fold the lead wires in order to secure the electronic component to the board in a cutting and folding operation;
- driving sources for said insertion head and said fixing head for independently driving the insertion operation of said insertion head and the cutting and folding operation of said fixing head, wherein said driving sources have respective output signals; and
- a device for synchronizing the operations of said driving sources from the output signals therefrom such that the insertion operation of said insertion head and the cutting and folding operation of said fixing head are synchronized with each other so as to perform the cutting and folding operation lust after the insertion operation is performed.
- 2. The mounting apparatus of claim 1, wherein:
- said driving sources are driving motors;
- driving shafts are connected to said driving motors and cams are fitted to said driving shafts for independently driving said insertion head and said fixing head;
- encoders are provided for detecting rotational positions of rotors of said driving motors to provide the output signals; and
- said device for synchronizing controls said driving motors to control said cams of said insertion head and said fixing head such that both of said heads are synchronized with each other based on the output signals.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the synchronizing device synchronizes said driving sources from the output signals therefrom such that said insertion head and said fixing head are synchronized with each other so that said insertion head is driven by one of said driving sources so as to separate the lead wires of the electronic component in said component feeding member from the tapes and so as to take out the separated lead wires so that the lead wires of the component are inserted into the holes of the board, and simultaneously, said fixing head is driven by the other of said driving sources so as to cut the lead wires of the electronic component inserted into the holes of the board and fold the lead wires to secure the component to the board.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the synchronizing device synchronizes said driving sources from the output signals therefrom such that said insertion head and said fixing head are synchronized with each other so that said insertion head is driven by one of said driving sources so as to separate the lead wires of the electronic component in said component feeding member from the tapes and so as to take out the separated lead wires so that the lead wires of the component are inserted into the holes of the board, and simultaneously, said fixing head is driven by the other of said driving sources so as to cut the lead wires of the electronic component inserted into the holes of the board and fold the lead wires to secure the component to the board.
- 5. An apparatus for mounting electronic components as defined in claim 1, wherein said insertion head is located at an insertion position and is movable upward and downward at the insertion position for the insertion operation, and said fixing head is located at a cutting and folding position facing the insertion position and is movable upward and downward at the cutting and folding position for the cutting and folding operation.
- 6. An apparatus for mounting electronic components as defined in claim 1, wherein each of the insertion head and the fixing head is a single device.
- 7. An apparatus for mounting electronic components as defined in claim 1, wherein said insertion head and said fixing head are fixedly and nonrotatably positioned at the insertion position and the cutting and folding position, respectively.
