Claims
- 1. An optical disk comprising:
- a transparent substrate; and
- a reflective film formed on said transparent substrate and containing aluminum not bound with oxygen and aluminum bound with oxygen in relative amounts such that the amount of aluminum bound with oxygen is approximately 26 to 33 atomic percent of the reflective film.
- 2. The optical disc according to claim 1 wherein aluminum and oxygen constituting the oxide of Al bear an oxygen to aluminum atomic ratio in the range of from 1.3 to 2.0.
- 3. The optical disc according to claims 1 or 2 wherein, in terms of the atomic ratio of aluminum not bound with oxygen and aluminum bound with oxygen in said reflective film, the proportion of aluminum bound with oxygen amounts approximately to 26 to 33 atomic percent.
- 4. The optical disc of claim 1, wherein the reflectivity of said reflective film is greater than or equal to 70 percent.
- 5. A method for producing a reflective film essentially composed of aluminum on an optical disc, said method comprising introducing a trace amount of oxygen into an atmosphere in the course of forming said reflective film on a transparent substrate of said optical disc.
- 6. The method according to claim 5 wherein the amount of oxygen introduced into atmosphere is such that the oxide of Al contained in the formed reflective film with aluminum and oxygen constituting said oxide of Al bearing an oxygen to aluminum atomic ratio of 1.3 or higher.
- 7. A method for producing a reflective film essentially composed of aluminum on a transparent substrate of an optical disc, wherein aluminum oxide is interdispersed within the aluminum, said method comprising the step of:
- introducing an amount of oxygen into an atmosphere in the course of forming said reflective film on said transparent substrate, wherein the amount of oxygen introduced into the atmosphere is such that aluminum not bound with oxygen and aluminum bound with oxygen and thus existing as an aluminum oxide are contained in said reflective film such that the proportion of aluminum bound with oxygen is approximately 26 to 33 atomic percent of the reflective film.
