Claims
- 1. A vector including a nucleic acid sequence that encodes a polypeptide having a length of no more than about 100 amino acid residues that includes an amino acid residue sequence represented by the formula: AspArgXaa.sub.1 ProHisHaa.sub.2 Arg (SEQ ID NO 1). wherein Xaa.sub.1 and Xaa.sub.2 are any amino acid residue and said polypeptide binds GPIIb-IIIa in an ArgGlyAsp-indepependent manner.
- 2. A vector including a nucleic acid sequence that encodes a polypeptide having a length of no more than about 100 amino acid residues that includes an amino acid residue sequence AspArgXaa.sub.1 ProHisXaa.sub.2 Arg (SEQ ID NO 1), wherein Xaa.sub.1 and Xaa.sub.2 are any amino acid residue and said polypeptide binds GPIIb-IIa in an ArgGlyAsp-independent manner.
- 3. The vector of claim 2 wherein said polypeptide has the amino acid residue sequence AspArgValProHisSerArg (SEQ ID NO 16).
- 4. A vector including a nucleic acid sequence that encodes a polypeptide having a length of no more than about 100 amino acid residues that includes an amino acid residue sequence -AspArgXaa.sub.1 ProHisXaa.sub.2 ArgXaa.sub.3 Xaa.sub.4 Xaa.sub.5 Xaa.sub.6 - (SEQ ID NO 2), wherein Xaa.sub.1 is Val or Ala, Xaa.sub.2 is Ser or Ala, Xaa.sub.3 is Asn or Ala, Xaa.sub.4 is Ser or Ala, Xaa.sub.5 is Ile or Ala, and Xaa.sub.6 is Thr or Ala.
- 5. The vector of claim 4 wherein said polypeptide has the amino acid residue sequence
- AspArgValProHisSerArgAsnSerIleThr,
- AspArgAlaProHisSerArgAsnSerIleThr,
- AspArgValProHisAlaArgAsnSerIleThr,
- AspArgValProHisSerArgAlaSerIleThr,
- AspArgValProHisSerArgAsnAlaIleThr,
- AspArgValProHisSerArgAsnSerAlaThr, and
- AspArgValProHisSerArgAsnSerIleAla,
- the SEQ ID NO of which are 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 respectively.
- 6. A vector including a nucleic acid sequence that encodes a polypeptide that inhibits fibronectin binding to GPIIb-IIIa said polypeptide having a length of no more than about 100 amino acid residues that includes an amino acid residue sequence selected from the group consisting of the sequences shown in SEQ ID NO:2 from residues 248-274, 197-274, 217-274 and 73-274.
