Claims
- 1. A radiographic intensifying screen comprising a substrate, a phosphor layer on said substrate, and a topcoat over said phosphor layer, said phosphor layer comprising an x-ray converting phosphor in a cured polymeric binder, and said topcoat layer consisting of an antistatic agent exuded from said cured polymeric binder wherein said antistatic agent selected from the group consisting of esters of polyol with an aliphatic fatty acid, phosphate esters, ethoxylated tertiary amines, quaternary ammonium compounds, and fluorine containing antistatic agents.
- 2. The radiographic intensifying screen of claim 1 wherein the antistatic agent is incompatible with the polymeric binder.
- 3. The radiographic intensifying screen of claim 1 wherein the antistatic agent is a fluorine containing compound and the polymeric binder comprises silicon.
- 4. An improved radiographic intensifying screen comprising:
- a substrate; and
- a phosphor layer on said substrate, wherein said phosphor layer comprises an x-ray converting phosphor in a polymeric binder,
- wherein the improvement comprises an exuded antistatic layer on the phosphor layer, said antistatic layer selected from the group consisting of esters of polyol with an aliphatic fatty acid, phosphate esters, ethoxylated tertiary amines, quaternary ammonium compounds, and fluorine containing antistatic agents.
- 5. An improved radiographic intensifying screen comprising:
- a substrate; and
- a phosphor layer on said substrate, wherein said phosphor layer comprises an x-ray converting phosphor in a silicon containing polymeric binder,
- wherein the improvement comprises an exuded antistatic layer on said phosphor layer, said antistatic layer consisting of a fluorine containing antistatic agent.
