Claims
- 1. A thin film magnetic data transfer transducer, comprising:a substrate having a surface; a first predetermined pattern of thin film material formed from electrically conductive material, said first predetermined pattern of thin film material having a portion thereof disposed on said surface of said substrate; a first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material formed on at least a portion of said first predetermined pattern of thin film material disposed on said surface of said substrate; a second predetermined pattern of thin film material formed from electrically conductive material, said second predetermined pattern of thin film material being formed on a portion of said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material and in electrical communication with said first predetermined pattern of thin film material whereby said first and second predetermined patterns of thin film material form a coil about said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material; a substantially magnetically non-permeable piece of material formed on and outwardly extending from at least a portion of said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material and said second predetermined pattern of thin film material; and a second substantially magnetically permeable piece of material formed on at least a portion of said substantially magnetically non-permeable piece of material and in communication with said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material whereby said second substantially magnetically permeable piece of material and said substantially magnetically non-permeable piece of material are formed as a head gap outwardly extending from and as a part of said thin film magnetic data transfer transducer.
- 2. A thin film diamond coated magnetic data transfer transducer, comprising:a substrate having a surface; a first predetermined pattern of thin film material formed from electrically conductive material, said first predetermined pattern of thin film material having a portion thereof disposed on said surface of said substrate; a first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material formed on at least a portion of said first predetermined pattern of thin film material disposed on said surface of said substrate; a second predetermined pattern of thin film material formed from electrically conductive material, said second predetermined pattern of thin film material being formed on a portion of said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material and in electrical communication with said first predetermined pattern of thin film material whereby said first and second predetermined patterns of thin film material form a coil about said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material; a substantially magnetically non-permeable piece of material formed on and outwardly extending from an least a portion of said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material and said second predetermined pattern of thin film material; a second substantially magnetically permeable piece of material formed on at least a portion of said substantially magnetically non-permeable piece of material and in communication with said first substantially magnetically permeable piece of material whereby said second substantially magnetically permeable piece of material and said substantially magnetically non-permeable piece of material are formed as a head gap for data transfer outwardly extending from and as a part of said thin film magnetic data transfer transducer; and a diamond coating formed on and covering at least said head gap for data transfer to thereby facilitate transfer of data by said magnetic data transfer transducer for data storval.
