Claims
- 1. A lithographic printing plate comprising a lithographic printing plate substrate having an imageable coating thereon comprising:
a. a resin composition which is reactive to imaging radiation of a selected wavelength which is shorter than the wavelength of infrared radiation and which is non-reactive to infrared radiation to produce an image in said coating comprising soluble and insoluble areas when exposed to said imaging radiation; and b. an infrared absorber in said resin which absorbs infrared radiation thereby heating said coating.
- 2. A lithographic printing plate as recited in claim 1 wherein said selected wavelength is in the ultraviolet or visible region.
- 3. A lithographic printing plate as recited in claim 1 wherein said printing plate is negative-working.
- 4. A lithographic printing plate as recited in claim 3 wherein said resin composition is a diazo resin.
- 5. A lithographic printing plate as recited in claim 3 wherein said resin composition is a photopolymer.
- 6. A lithographic printing plate as recited in claim 1 wherein said printing plate is positive-working and said coating comprises a diazide mixed or reacted with said resin.
