Claims
- 1. A method for containing and removing debris from a treatment site within a tubular biological structure comprising:
delivering a main catheter through said tubular biological structure, said main catheter having a first occlusive device attached to a distal end thereof; expanding said first occlusive device in said tubular biological structure at a location proximal of said treatment site; delivering an inner catheter through said tubular biological structure, said inner catheter having a second occlusive device attached to a distal end thereof; expanding said second occlusive device in said tubular biological structure at a location distal of said treatment site, said first and second occlusive devices defining a chamber in said tubular biological structure; delivering an intermediate catheter through said lumen in said main catheter until a distal portion of said intermediate catheter is located within said chamber; and providing irrigation fluid at one end of said chamber while providing aspiration at the other end of said chamber.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein aspiration pressure is between about −10 and −30 in-Hg, and said irrigation fluid is provided at a pressure of between about 5 and 30 psig.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein said chamber is created between two inflatable balloons.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein said tubular biological structure is less than about 25 mm in diameter.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein said tubular biological structure is about 6 mm in diameter.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein said aspiration and said irrigation fluid are delivered simultaneously.
- 7. The method of claim 1, further comprising sizing said inner catheter and said intermediate catheter to provide an annulus therebetween, and wherein said irrigation fluid is provided through said annulus.
- 8. The method of claim 1, further comprising sizing said intermediate catheter and said main catheter to provide an annulus therebetween, and wherein said aspiration is provided through said annulus.
- 9. The method of claim 1, further comprising sizing said inner catheter and said intermediate catheter to provide an annulus therebetween, and wherein said aspiration is provided through said annulus.
- 10. The method of claim 1, further comprising sizing said intermediate catheter and said main catheter to provide an annulus therebetween, and wherein said irrigation fluid is provided through said annulus.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein said inner catheter is a guidewire.
- 12. The method of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of said main catheter rides over said inner catheter during said delivery of said main catheter.
- 13. The method of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of said intermediate catheter rides over said inner catheter during said delivery of said intermediate catheter.
- 14. The method of claim 1, wherein delivering said inner catheter through said tubular biological structure occurs after delivering said main catheter through said tubular biological structure.
- 15. The method of claim 14, wherein delivering said inner catheter through said tubular biological structure occurs after expanding said first occlusive device.
- 16. The method of claim 1, wherein delivering said main catheter through said tubular biological structure occurs after delivering said inner catheter through said tubular biological structure.
- 17. The method of claim 1, wherein said first occlusive device is expanded before expanding said second occlusive device.
- 18. The method of claim 1, further comprising removing said intermediate catheter, reducing said second occlusive device and removing said inner catheter, and reducing said first occlusive device and removing said main catheter following providing irrigation fluid and aspiration.
- 19. The method of claim 1, wherein said intermediate catheter has a therapy device attached to a distal end thereof.
- 20. The method of claim 19, wherein said therapy device is an angioplasty balloon.
- 21. The method of claim 19, further comprising performing therapy on said treatment site using said therapy device following delivery of said intermediate catheter through said lumen in said main catheter.
- 22. The method of claim 21, further comprising removing said intermediate catheter following performing therapy, and delivering an irrigation catheter into said chamber, such that said irrigation fluid is provided through said irrigation catheter.
- 23. The method of claim 21, further comprising removing said intermediate catheter following performing therapy, and delivering an aspiration catheter into said chamber, such that said aspiration is provided through said aspiration catheter.
