Claims
- 1. A structure comprising:
- a body comprised of a plurality of layers of ceramic material, said ceramic material being erodable by a flow of abrasive material; and
- at least one electrical conductor comprised of a material that withstands the flow of abrasive material, said at least one electrical conductor being embedded within said body, said at least one electrical conductor having at least one extension which projects above an outer surface of said body after said outer surface has been eroded by the flow of abrasive material, said projecting extension being unitary with a portion of said electrical conductor embedded within said body, said embedded portion passing through a plurality of said layers of ceramic material.
- 2. The structure of claim 1, wherein said electrical conductor is comprised of a ductile metal.
- 3. The structure of claim 2, wherein said metal includes metals selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, gold, silver, copper, nickel and combinations thereof.
- 4. The structure of claim 1 and further comprising a layer of dielectric material disposed upon the outer surface.
- 5. The structure of claim 4 wherein the layer of dielectric material comprises polyimide.
- 6. The structure of claim 1 wherein the ceramic material is comprised of alumina.
- 7. The structure of claim 4 wherein the layer of dielectric material has a thickness that is less than a height of the projecting extension of the electrical conductor.
- 8. A structure comprising:
- a body comprised of a plurality of layers of sintered ceramic material; and
- a plurality of elongated electrical conductors embedded within the body each having an extension projecting perpendicularly outward from an abraded surface of the body, each projecting extension being unitary with a portion of the electrical conductor embedded within the body, the embedded portion passing perpendicularly through a plurality of the layers of ceramic material.
- 9. The structure of claim 8, wherein the electrical conductors are comprised of a metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, gold, silver, copper, nickel and combinations thereof.
- 10. The structure of claim 8 and further comprising a layer of dielectric material disposed upon the abraded surface and having a thickness that is less than a height of the projecting extension of the electrical conductors.
- 11. The structure of claim 10 wherein the layer of dielectric material comprises polyimide.
- 12. The structure of claim 8 wherein each of the plurality of layers is comprised of alumina.
- 13. The structure of claim 8 wherein at least one of the electrical conductors is electrically coupled to an electrical terminal of an integrated circuit device.
