Claims
- 1. An article comprising a polymer sheet containing a plurality of integral polymer conduit channels containing a transparent conductive material in which two or more such channels terminate.
- 2. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits terminate at a common intersection.
- 3. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits terminate at an electrical switch.
- 4. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits terminate at 90 degrees to each other.
- 5. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits have a vertical offset.
- 6. The article of claim 4 wherein said vertical offset comprises a continuous slope with an incline from 30 to 75 degrees.
- 7. The article of claim 4 wherein said vertical offset is approximately the height of said polymer conduit channels.
- 8. The article of claim 1 wherein said conductive material contains a colored dye.
- 9. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits terminate at a radio frequency receiver.
- 10. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits terminate at an integrated chip.
- 11. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits terminate at an addressable intersection.
- 12. The article of claim 1 further comprising two or more said polymer layers adhesively adhered.
- 13. The article of claim 1 wherein said polymer layer comprises said integral conduits on top and bottom of said polymer layer.
- 14. An article comprising a polymer layer containing a plurality of integral polymer conduits containing a substantially transparent conductive material.
- 15. The article of claim 1 wherein said conductive material comprises transparent polymer.
- 16. The article of claim 15 wherein said electronically conductive polymer is selected from the group consisting of substituted or unsubstituted aniline containing polymers, substituted or unsubstituted pyrrole containing polymers, substituted or unsubstituted thiophene containing polymers.
- 17. The article of claim 16 wherein said electrically conductive polymer is selected from the group consisting of poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene styrene sulfonate), poly(pyrrole styrene sulfonate) and poly(3,4-ethylene dioxypyrrole styrene sulfonate).
- 18. The article of claim 1 wherein said conductive material comprises a gelatin binder and metallic salt.
- 19. The article of claim 1 wherein said resistivity of the said conductive material is less than 600 ohm-meters.
- 20. The article of claim 1 wherein said resistivity of the said conductive material is between 0.1 and 300 ohm-meters.
- 21. The article of claim 1 wherein said conductive material further comprises a protective overcoat.
- 22. The article of claim 21 wherein said protective overcoat material has a resistivity greater than 5000 ohm meters.
- 23. The article of claim 1 wherein said polymer conduits contain at least two layers with at least one layer comprising a conductive material.
- 24. The article of claim 1 wherein said conductive material guides visible light waves in the channel plane.
- 25. The article of claim 1 wherein said article has a light transmission greater than 80%.
- 26. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits have a depth of between 0.1 and 100 micrometers.
- 27. The article of claim 1 wherein said conduits have a depth of between 0.1 and 10 micrometers.
- 28. The article of claim 1 wherein said polymer sheet has a thickness between 20 and 120 micrometers.
- 29. The article of claim 1 wherein said plurality of conduits have at least one direction change greater than 30 degrees.
- 30. The article of claim 1 wherein said polymer conduits comprise layered nanocomposite materials.
- 31. The article of claim 1 wherein said polymer layer further comprises discrete polymer features.
- 32. The article of claim 1 further comprising an image layer adjacent to said conduits.
- 33. The article of claim 1 further comprising polymer light directing lenses located in said conduits.
- 34. A process for forming a polymer sheet containing a plurality of integral polymer conduit channels containing a transparent conductive material in which two or more such channels terminate, comprising forming a plurality of channels in the sheet which channels are vertically offset for form a termination, and placing a conductive material within the channels.
