Claims
- 1. Apparatus for obtaining three-dimensional data from devices having corresponding elements, said elements being arranged in at least one of a row and a column, comprising:
- means for receiving a multi-pocketed tray;
- said multi-pocketed tray having a plurality of tray pockets arranged in at least one of rows and columns;
- said tray pockets being adapted for receiving a plurality of said devices;
- said tray pockets holding a plurality of said devices with corresponding elements of at least first and second devices being aligned in at least one of a two-device row and a two-device column;
- a three-dimensional sensor; and
- scanning means for scanning said three-dimensional sensor along at least one of said two-device row and said two-device column, such that data from corresponding elements of said two-device row or said two-device column are obtained in a straight-line scan.
- 2. Apparatus as in claim 1, further comprising:
- vibrating means for generating directional vibration; and
- means for applying said vibrating means to said tray for driving all said devices to a same corner or side of respective tray pockets whereby said devices become aligned.
- 3. Apparatus for obtaining three-dimensional data from devices having corresponding elements, said elements being arranged in a row, comprising:
- means for receiving a multi-pocketed tray;
- said multi-pocketed tray having a plurality of tray pockets arranged in at least one row;
- said tray pockets being adapted for receiving a plurality of said devices;
- said tray pockets holding a plurality of said devices with corresponding elements of at least first and second devices being aligned in at least a two-device row;
- a three-dimensional sensor; and
- scanning means for scanning said three-dimensional sensor along said at least two-device row, such that data from corresponding elements of said two-device row are obtained in a straight-line scan.
- 4. Apparatus as in claim 3, further comprising:
- vibrating means for generating directional vibration; and
- means for applying said vibrating means to said tray for driving all said devices to a same corner or side of respective tray pockets whereby said devices become aligned.
- 5. Apparatus for obtaining three-dimensional data from devices having corresponding elements, said elements being arranged in a column, comprising:
- means for receiving a multi-pocketed tray;
- said multi-pocketed tray having a plurality of tray pockets arranged in at least one column;
- said tray pockets being adapted for receiving a plurality of said devices;
- said tray pockets holding a plurality of said devices with corresponding elements of at least first and second devices being aligned in at least a two-device column;
- a three-dimensional sensor; and
- scanning means for scanning said three-dimensional sensor along said at least two-device column, such that data from corresponding elements of said two-device column are obtained in a straight-line scan.
- 6. Apparatus as in claim 5, further comprising:
- vibrating means for generating directional vibration; and
- means for applying said vibrating means to said tray for driving all said devices to a same corner or side of respective tray pockets whereby said devices become aligned.
- 7. Apparatus for obtaining three-dimensional data from devices having corresponding elements, said elements being arranged in a row and a column, comprising:
- means for receiving a multi-pocketed tray;
- said multi-pocketed tray having a plurality of tray pockets arranged in at least one row and at least one column;
- said tray pockets being adapted for receiving a plurality of said devices;
- said tray pockets holding a plurality of said devices with corresponding elements of at least first and second devices being aligned in at least one row and column;
- a three-dimensional sensor; and
- scanning means for scanning said three-dimensional sensor along at least one of said at least one row and said at least one column, such that data from corresponding elements of said one of at least one row and said at least one column are obtained in at least one straight-line scan.
- 8. Apparatus as in claim 7, further comprising:
- vibrating means for generating directional vibration; and
- means for applying said vibrating means to said tray for driving all said devices to a same corner or side of respective tray pockets whereby said devices become aligned.
