Claims
- 1. A communication system comprising:
- means for generating information to be communicated;
- means for generating an overlapping signature signal in response to the information to be communicated;
- means for communicating the overlapping signature signal to a remote location; and
- filter means at the remote location for reconstructing the information to be communicated in response to the overlapping signature control communicated to the remote location.
- 2. The system as set forth in claim 1 above, wherein said filter means includes signature processing means for reconstructing the information to be communicated as a digital output signal in response to the overlapping signature signal communicated to the remote location with said communicating means.
- 3. The system as set forth in claim 1 above, wherein the overlapping signature signal communicated with said communicating means includes a plurality of overlapping signatures for reconstructing the information to be communicated; and wherein said filter means includes means for generating a plurality of non-overlapping digital signals in response to the plurality of overlapping signatures.
- 4. The system as set forth in claim 1 above; further comprising digital input means for generating a digital input signal; wherein said communication system is a signature communication system for communicating digital information as a signature signal; said system further comprising means for communicating the digital input signal in signature signal form; wherein said filter means includes means for generating a plurality of output signature signals in response to the communicated overlapping signature signal and means for generating a plurality of output digital signals related to the digital input signal in response to the plurality of output signature signals.
- 5. The system as set forth in either of claims 2 or 3 above, wherein said information generating means includes digital input means for generating the information to be communicated as a digital signal; wherein said overlapping signature signal generating means includes signature input means for generating the overlapping signature signal having a plurality of signatures in response to the digital signal from said digital input means; wherein said plurality of signatures include a plurality of different signatures therebetween and include a plurality of overlapping signatures therebetween.
- 6. The system as set forth in claim 1 above, wherein said overlapping signature signal generating means includes means for generating the overlapping signature signal in digital signal forml in response to the information to be communicated.
- 7. The system as set forth in claim 1 above, wherein said filter means includes signature processing means for reconstructing the information to be communicated as a digital signal in response to the overlapping signature signal communicated to the remote location.
- 8. The system as set forth in claim 1 above, wherein the communicated overlapping signature signal includes a plurality of overlapping signatures for reconstructing the information to be communicated and wherein said filter means includes means for reconstructing a plurality of non-overlapping digital signals in response to the plurality of overlapping signatures in said communicated overlapping signature signal.
- 9. The system as set forth in claim 1 above; wherein said information generating means includes digital input means for generating the information to be communicated as a digital input signal; wherein said communication system is a signature communication system for communicating digital information in signature signal form; wherein said filter means includes means for generating output signature signals in response to the communicated signature signal and means for generating a plurality of output digital signals related to the digital input signal in response to the output signature signals.
- 10. The system as set forth in claim 1 above, wherein said information generating means includes digital input means for generating the information to be communicated as a digital signal; wherein said overlapping signature signal generating means includes signature input means for generating the overlapping signature signal having a plurality of signatures in response to the digital signal from said digital input means; and wherein said plurality of signatures includes different signatures therebetween and overlapping signatures therebetween.
- 11. A communication system for communicating digital information in signature signal form, said system comprising:
- input means for generating digital input signals;
- modulating means for generating signature signals in response to the digital input signals;
- communicating means for communicating the signature signals generated with said modulating means; and
- output means for generating digital output signals in response to the signature signals communicated with said communicating means.
- 12. The system as set forth in claim 11 above, wherein said modulating means includes signature overlapping means for generating the signature signals as a plurality of overlapping signature signals in response to the digital input signals; wherein said communicating means includes means for communicating the overlapping signature signals generated with said overlapping means; and wherein said output means includes signature demodulating means for generating the digital output signals in response to the overlapping signature signals communicated with said communicating means.
- 13. The system as set forth in claim 11 above, wherein the communicated signature signals include a plurality of overlapping signatures, and wherein said output means includes means for generating the digital output signals as non-overlapping digital output signals in response to the plurality of overlapping signature signals.
- 14. The system as set forth in claim 11 above, wherein said communication system is a digital signature communication system for communicating digital information in signature signal form; wherein said output means includes means for generating the digital output signals related to the digital input signals in response to the communicated signature signals.
- 15. The system as set forth in claim 11 above, wherein said modulating means includes means for generating an input signature signal having a plurality of signatures in response to the digital input signals from said input means, wherein said signature signals include a plurality of different signatures therebetween and a plurality of overlapping signatures therebetween.
- 16. The system as set forth in claim 11 above, wherein said modulating means includes signature encoding means for generating a plurality of overlapping signature signals in response to the digital input signals, wherein said communicating means includes means for communicating the overlapping signature signals, and wherein said output means includes signature decoding means for generating the digital output signals in response to the communicated overlapping signatures signals.
- 17. A communication system comprising:
- overlapping signal communication means for communicating information as a plurality of overlapping signature signals and
- output means for generating non-overlapping signals in response to the communicated overlapping signature signals.
- 18. The system as set forth in claim 17 above, wherein said output means includes an incremental filter processor for generating the non-overlapping signature signals in response to incremental filter processing of the communicated overlapping signals.
- 19. A communication system comprising:
- overlapping signal communication means for communicating information as a plurality of overlapping signatures, each signature in said plurality of overlapping signatures being different from the other signatures in said plurality of overlapping signatures and
- a filter processor for generating a plurality of nonoverlapping output signals in response to filter processing of each of the overlapping signatures included in the plurality of overlapping signatures communicated with said overlapping signal communication means.
- 20. A communication system comprising:
- overlapping signature signal communication means for communicating information as a plurality of overlapping signature signals, said communication means including,
- (a) means for generating the information to be communicated,
- (b) means for generating an overlapping signature signal in response to the information to be communicated, and
- (c) means for communicating the overlapping signature signal to a remote location; and
- filter means at the remote location for reconstructing the information to be communicated to the remote location in response to the overlapping signature signal.
- 21. The system as set forth in claim 20 above, wherein said filter means includes signature processing means for reconstructing the information to be communicated as a digital communicated signal in response to the overlapping signature signal communicated to the remote location.
- 22. The system as set forth in claim 20 above, wherein the communicated overlapping signature signal includes a plurality of overlapping signatures for reconstructing the information to be communicated and wherein said filter means includes means for generating a plurality of non-overlapping digital signals in response to the plurality of overlapping signatures.
- 23. The system as set forth in claim 20 above, wherein said information generating means includes digital input means for generating the information to be communicated as a digital input signal; wherein said communication system is a signature communication system for communicating digital information as a signature signal; wherein said means for communicating includes means for communicating the overlapping signature signal in response to the digital input signal; wherein said filter means includes means for generating output signature signals in response to the communicated overlapping signature signal and means for generating a plurality of reconstructed output digital signals related to the digital input signal in response to the output signature signals.
- 24. The system as set forth in claim 20 above, wherein said information generating means includes digital input means for generating the information to be communicated as a digital signal; wherein said overlapping signature signal generating means includes overlapping signature input means for generating an overlapping input signature signal having a plurality of signatures in response to the digital signal from said digital input means; wherein said plurality of signatures include different signatures therebetween and overlapping signatures therebetween; and wherein said communicating means includes means for communicating the overlapping input signature signal to the remote location.
- 25. The system as set forth in claim 20 above, wherein said communicated information generating means includes input means for generating the information to be communicated as digital input signals and wherein said overlapping signature generating means includes modulating means for generating the overlapping signature signal in response to the digital input signals.
- 26. The system as set forth in claim 20 above, wherein said overlapping signal generating means includes signature encoding means for generating the signature signal as a plurality of overlapping signature signals in response to the information to be communicated, wherein said communicating means includes means for communicating the overlapping signature signals, and wherein said filter means includes signature decoding means for generating the reconstructed information in response to the communicated overlapping signature signals.
