Claims
- 1. A prepreg comprising sheet-like laminate base material impregnated with thermosetting resin and dried, said sheet-like laminate base material consisting of a combined non-woven fabric of para-aramid fibers and thermoplastic resin fibers having a softening temperature of 220.degree. C. and higher, said para-aramid fibers and said thermoplastic resin fibers being bonded by a resin binder in an open matrix for receipt of impregnating resin with said thermoplastic resin fibers adhered to each other and to said para-aramid fibers in a molten manner.
- 2. A prepreg comprising sheet-like laminate base material impregnated with thermosetting resin and dried, said sheet-like laminate base material consisting of a combined non-woven fabric of para-aramid fibers and thermoplastic resin fibers having a softening temperature of 220.degree. C. and higher, said para-aramid fibers and said thermoplastic resin fibers being bonded by a resin binder in an open matrix for receipt of impregnating resin with said thermoplastic resin fibers thermally softened and deformed and intertwined with each other and with said para-aramid fibers.
- 3. A prepreg as set forth in either of claims 1 or 2, wherein said thermoplastic resin fibers comprising from 5 to 30% by weight of the laminate base material.
- 4. A prepreg as set forth in either of claims 1 or 2, wherein said resin binder comprises from 5 to 15% by weight of said laminate base material.
- 5. A prepreg as set forth in either of claims 1 or 2, wherein said thermoplastic resin fibers are chopped fibers.
- 6. A prepreg as set forth in either of claims 1 or 2, wherein said para-aramid fibers are p-phenylene-terephthalamide fibers.
- 7. A prepreg as set forth in claim 6, wherein said p-phenylene-terephthalamide fibers have a fiber length of 6 mm and less, and said thermoplastic resin fibers have a fiber length of 3 to 10 mm.
- 8. A prepreg as set forth in either of claims 1 or 2, wherein said para-aramid fibers are p-phenylene-diphenylether-terephthalamide fibers.
- 9. A prepreg as set forth in either of claims 1 or 2, wherein said thermoplastic resin fibers are of m-phenylene-isophthalamide fibers.
- 10. A prepreg as set forth in claim 9, wherein said m-phenylene-isophthalamide fibers are not drawn.
- 11. A laminate comprising sheet-like laminate base material impregnated with thermosetting resin and formed by being heated, and pressed, said sheet-like laminate base material consisting of a combined non-woven fabric of para-aramid fibers and thermoplastic resin fibers having a softening temperature of 220.degree. C. and higher, said para-aramid fibers and said thermoplastic resin fibers being bonded by a resin binder in an open matrix for receipt of impregnating resin with said thermoplastic resin fibers adhered to each other and to said para-aramid fibers in a molten manner.
- 12. A laminate comprising sheet-like laminate base material impregnated with thermosetting resin and formed by being heated and pressed, said sheet-like laminate base material consisting of a combined non-woven fabric of para-aramid fibers and thermoplastic resin fibers having a softening temperature of 220.degree. C. and higher, said para-aramid fibers and said thermoplastic resin fibers being bonded by a resin binder in an open matrix for receipt of impregnating resin with said thermoplastic resin fibers thermally softened and deformed and intertwined with each other and with said para-aramid fibers.
- 13. A laminate as set forth in either of claims 11 or 12, wherein said thermoplastic resin fibers comprise from 5 to 30% by weight of the laminate base material.
