Claims
- 1. A composition for use as the first unpatterned layer in a diffusion patterning process comprising finely divided particles of inorganic dielectric solids dispersed in a liquid organic medium comprising a solution of a film-forming acidic polymer having an acid number of 20-600; a plasticizer in which the acidic polymer is incompletely soluble; and a volatile organic solvent wherein the ratio of polymer to plasticizer being such that when the volatile organic solvent is removed from the organic medium, the resulting solvent-free polymer/plasticizer dispersion is specularly nonreflective.
- 2. The composition of claim 1 in which the acidic polymer comprises a minor amount by weight of the solvent-free organic medium.
- 3. The composition of claim 1 in which the acidic polymer has an acid number of 100-400.
- 4. The composition of claim 1 in which the acidic polymer is a copolymer of an hydrocarbyl acrylate or methacrylate with an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid.
- 5. The composition of claim 1 in which the plasticizer is water-insoluble.
- 6. The composition of claim 1 in which the plasticizer is a glycol.
