Claims
- 1. A method of forming a composite membrane, comprising:
obtaining a silicon substrate; opening front and rear windows on said silicon substrate which are adjacent to one another, and have a thinned silicon membrane between them; forming a layer of thermopneumatically impermeable material on a first side of the substrate; covering the impermeable material with an elastiomeric material on the first side of the substrate; and removing the thin layer of silicon to leave a free standing material which is a composite of said impermeable material and said elastomeric material.
- 2. A method as in claim 1 further comprising forming another layer of thermopneumatically impermeable material on a second side of the layer and within the rear side window.
- 3. A method as in claim 1 wherein said elastomeric forming comprising filling at least a portion of the front side window with a elastomeric material.
- 4. A method as in claim 3 wherein said elastomeric material is silicone rubber.
- 5. A method as in claim 4 wherein said impermeable material is Parylene.
