Claims
- 1. A method of controlling a plating of an article comprising the steps of:providing a container that supports a plating fluid bath; immersing said article within said plating fluid bath; providing a cathode in electrical contact with said article; providing an anode in electrical contact with said plating fluid bath, wherein said anode comprises an adjustable section; forming a positive voltage difference from said anode to said cathode to cause said plating of said article, wherein said positive voltage difference forms an electrostatic field between said anode and said article; and bending said adjustable section of said anode to change said electrostatic field formed between said anode arid said article to control said plating of said article.
- 2. The method of claim 1, further including the step of supporting said anode with a shaft.
- 3. The method of claim 2, further including the step of introducing a gas within an internal channel of said shaft to dry said article after plating and rinsing of said article.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein said gas comprises nitrogen gas.
- 5. The method of claim 2, wherein said anode is configured into a disk including a centrally located opening for securely receiving an end of said shaft.
- 6. The method of claim 5, wherein said adjustable section comprises a peddle.
- 7. The method of claim 2, further including the step of providing an anode voltage to said anode by way of said shaft.
- 8. The method of claim 1, further including the step of rotating said anode to create random horizontal fluid flow within said plating fluid bath.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein said anode includes at least one paddle for creating random horizontal fluid flow within said plating fluid bath.
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein said anode comprises a mesh.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein said anode comprises a solid.
- 12. The method of claim 1, further including the step of filtering unwanted particles that are shedded by said anode during plating.
- 13. The method of claim 12, wherein the step of filtering is accomplished by a sleeve that encases said anode.
- 14. The method of clam 1, wherein said anode is supported by a base.
- 15. The method of claim 14, further including the step of adding at least one spacer between said anode and base to configure said anode in an angled-up configuration.
- 16. The method of claim 14, further including the step of adding at least one spacer between said anode and base to configure said anode in an angled-down configuration.
- 17. The method of claim 1, wherein said anode is configured in a flat configuration.
- 18. The method of claim 1, further including the step of shielding said anode to alter said electrostatic field formed between said anode and said article.
- 19. The method of claim 1, further including the step of shielding said anode to prevent stray currents from forming above said anode.
