Claims
- 1. A device for aligning a printed circuit (PC) board (2) in relation to an anvil (3) and an insertion blade (4) of a manual operated press (50) prior to insertion of at least one electronic component (1) provided with press-fit contact pins (7) into holes (5) of a selected insertion zone (z) of the PC-board (2), whereby the anvil (3) and the insertion blade (4) are substantially aligned to each other along an insertion center line (c) of the manual press, and a position of the selected insertion zone (z) is determined by means of a center point (p) of the insertion zone (z), the device comprising:a manually operated X-Y table to which the PC-board (2) is secured for moving the PC-board along an X-axis of the press and along a Y-axis of the press, the X-Y table comprising an X carriage (40) movable along the X-axis of the press and a Y carriage (11) movable along the Y-axis of the press; respective correction carriages (21,25) movably mounted to each of the X and Y carriages, the respective correction carriages having corresponding correction motors for moving each of the correction carriages relative to the X and Y carriages; and encoders (17,18) respectively connected to the X and Y carriages for detecting a position of the X and Y carriages, the encoders being connected to control units for operating the corresponding correction motors of the correction carriages in response to a signal from the encoders indicating the position of the X and Y carriages and moving the correction carriages with the correction motors for automatically aligning the center point (p) of the selected insertion zone (z) in relation to the insertion center line (c) of the anvil (3) and the insertion blade (4).
- 2. The device according to claim 1, wherein each of the correction carriages (21, 25) has means for moving the carriages comprising a screwed spindle (22, 26) connected to an axle of a corresponding one of the correction motors (23, 27) in order to achieve relative movement between the correction carriages (21, 25) and corresponding X and Y carriages (40, 11) when the correction carriages and corresponding X and Y carriages are in a linked position.
- 3. The device according to claim 1, wherein the Y carriage is provided with two guiding bars (11) which are connected to each other with crossbeams (10) whereby the guiding bars (11) are movable with respect to pilot bearings (12) rigidly connected to a frame of the press (50).
- 4. The device according to claim 1, wherein the X carriage (40) is provided with handles (13) and wherein movement of said X carriage along the X-axis is supported and guided by means of crossbeams (10).
- 5. The device according to claim 1, wherein each correction carriage (21, 25) is provided with a brake system (20, 24) which is arranged to block free manual movement of the corresponding X and Y carriages (40, 11) and to allow an automatic final adjustment by means of a relative movement between the correction carriages (21, 25) and the corresponding X and Y carriages (40, 11).
- 6. The device according to claim 1, wherein the anvil (3) is provided on its upper side with regularly spaced gaps such as grooves (6) whereby a distance between each groove (6) is corresponding to a standard spacing between the press-fit contact pins (7) from the electronic, component (1).
- 7. The device according to claim 1, wherein the insertion blade (4) is provided on its lower side with regularly spaced gaps such as grooves (8) whereby a distance between each groove (8) is corresponding with a standard spacing between the press-fit contact pins (7) from the electronic component (1).
- 8. The device according to claim 1, wherein X-Y coordinates of a real position at the PC-board are detected by the encoder means (17, 18) and transmitted to the control units (16a, 16b), and are visualized by means of a display panel (19).
