Claims
- 1. A wavemeter for measuring wave properties of a laser beam of a gas discharge laser, said wavemeter comprising:
A) an etalon system comprising
1) an etalon housing, 2) two windows permitting light to enter said housing, and 3) an etalon positioned within said housing; B) an optical train for producing a substantially collimated sample beam spacially representative of the laser beam; C) a diffractive diffusing element positioned to diffuse said sample beam into diffused beam substantially of which is expanding at angles of less than 10 degrees; D) a detector array; and E) an optical train for focusing said diffused beam onto said detector array.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This is a continuation-in-part of Ser. No. 09/273,446 which is a continuation-in-part of Ser. No. 09/165,593 (now U.S. Pat. No. 5,978,394). This invention relates to lasers and, in particular, to a technique for accurately measuring the output wavelength of a gas discharge laser.
